As you all know I am clearly NOT experienced when it comes to “girl” decor. In fact, I start breaking out in hives just thinking about how the heck to decorate for anything besides boys!
One of my very close friends {a fellow boy mama} just recently added a baby girl to the family. I’m sure you have heard me talk about Baylor when I mentioned the Sip & See we had for her. As if decorating for a Sip & See wasn’t enough to make my skin all red and itchy…I also set out to help decorate the nursery. Full blown rash at this point.
No, don’t take any of this the wrong way. I enjoyed my happy little self the entire time I was on this girl decor mission…I was just a little out of my element.
It seems like boy decor ideas come naturally to me. Girl decor ideas…make me use my noggin’.
We picked out this adorable fabric from Hobby Lobby and Kelly had someone make the bedding {the best way to go in my opinion}.
She already had black polka-dot sheets so we needed something that complimented that, but we wanted it to definitely be “girly” at the same time.
Love the pinks, purples, and shades of green in this fabric.
I was in charge of the layout of the wall art above the crib.
Whoa nelly. I feel like I can bust out some gallery wall art projects when it’s my own house, but the second I am suppose to do it for someone else…I start getting anxiety and feel like I have never hung a picture in my life.
Luckily she had pieces that she wanted to incorporate from her grandmother that made this project easier.
You see those doilies? Those were passed down from her grandmother. Along with the paper doll you see in the pink and white frame and the brown circle frames.
She also had these two glass doll heads that were her grandmother’s. We set them on the dresser and I love love love them!
You may notice that some of the frames on the wall aren’t complete yet. I’m hoping to get updated pictures soon!
So, what do you think…am I girl mom material?

My daughter is a girl mom (ages 7 and 4) and she couldn’t imagine having a boy. Well, God blessed her with a baby boy and she has taken to being a boy mom like a duck to water! So I believe you have it in you. If God blesses you with a little girl I am sure you will do an amazing job!!

Love that almost all of these things can easily migrate to a big girl room one day! I especially love the big monogram and the fact that some of it is from grandmother! So special and perfectly brought together!

What a great way to combine the black and white polka dots with something girlie and colorful! This little lady will grow up in a boys’ household, so she better have some bling of her own! Love the colors repeated in wall art!
