And P loves the boat…hates the water! I had him in swim lessons from January to March (remember?), so I really thought he was going to start the summer off like a fish.
Not so much.
It’s actually opposite.
He has no interest in swimming. I can’t blame him….did I mention I rarely like to submerge myself in dirty lake water?
Oops. I guess he is taking after his mother.
Although, in my defense, I LOVE to swim. Just in CLEAN pools. Not dirty lakes. Call me prissy, but the thought of swimming in someone else’s pee…not that interesting to me.
I don’t think P minds the dirty lake water…he just isn’t comfortable yet. See him sitting in the boat…
…this is where he prefers to stay.
Or driving the boat of course. Another one of his favs. 
He did say a lot of “boat…fast…..boat”.
I thought if he saw daddy jump right in, he would have no problem. You know. Anything daddy does is cool.
Wrong.
You see….this is daddy trying to coax him in the water…
And this is daddy making him get in…against all P’s wishes…daddy really wanted him to “try it out”.
Didn’t go so hot. He yelled “mommy, mommy, mommy….out! out!”
The water was sooo cold.
Ok, so I am sticking up for P (again). Duh! It’s what I do. I didn’t get in the water either so I can’t knock him!He did have a great time with Keo…who owns the boat we were on. Keo and P…quickly became buddies. You see, Keo didn’t make him get in the water. He played with him on the boat.
I have to say…P did an excellent job on the boat. We were out there from 1:00pm to 6:45pm and he didn’t cry or complain once. He just stayed on the boat and played…oh and ate a lot of goodies.
Now…stay tuned for the second boat outing…he didn’t go as well as the first. Angel P….was no longer an angel.

My PD took a while getting to love the water. – even the pool! I have pics of her in my arms – completely dry with floaties, nose plugs, the whole works. Hilarious to think about it after all these years.

I hate lake water too. Ick. I don’t like to think about what’s in there or what’s swimming around with me. I prefer to see what I’m swimming with, thank you!
