I have been known to have decorating A.D.D.
I’m ok with admitting that about myself. In fact, SJ’s closet is FILLED with wall hangings that I am no longer using.
ย I have been needing to decorate my long hallway wall for quite some time. So, instead of going out and buying all new things, I thought, “I’m gonna refurbish some of my old wall hangings!”
Refurbish wall hangings? I didn’t even know that was possible a year ago.
{Thank you diy blog world}
Probably explains why I have a closet full of crap I am not hanging on the wall.
ANYWAY, here is a little before and after of my canvas print that I stenciled. I’ll be sharing the full tutorial in another post.
Pretty big transformation, hey?
I added it to my wall art gallery for the LONG hallway and I think it was a nice touch!
I still need to update these pictures of the kids with more recent ones, but I’ll save that for another day.
All the frames came from Hobby Lobby. The big ones were, again, straight outta my “not using” pile in SJ’s closet.
The mats use to be maroon, but I took a quick spray paint to those so that they would match my
I also got the initials that I taped to the frames at Hobby Lobby {I spray painted them too}. Each letter stands for the first name of every member of our family…in case you are new to this blog. ๐
If you notice {in the top right small frame} there is a missing initial…I made sure to leave it blank so that we can easily add our newest child’s initial as soon as we find out what it is!
I really love how the canvas turned out!
What do you think?
I used scrap book paper in the frames that have the initials {in case you were curious}.
So, there you have it…

What a great way to re-use! This gallery is so cute! I look forward to the tutorial on how you did it. What color is the wall paint? It looks like a great neutral that I love to check out for our new house.
Mandy says
Thanks so much! The light wall color is Lambs Ear by Valspar {Lowes}. ๐

Adorable! As always. I have a gazillion unused frames in my basement too. You make me want to break those out today. Looking forward to the tutorial! The canvas just makes that whole wall!!

Your hallway looks great!
I have to tell you, all your DIY projects have inspired me to get over my anxiety about spray paint. Over the weekend I had the Hubs spray 3 different things for the baby’s nursery (since I can’t do it myself right now!) and only one thing had to be trashed (we’re still learning). I hope to have pics of the nursery up soon!
Mandy says
Thank you!! Yes, you need to put up nursery pics! I am telling you…ever since I discovered spray paint…I use it on everything. I think I might have a problem? HAHA! OH…and my take on “when” the baby will arrive…right on time!! Keep me posted!

I love your decorating abilities {as usual!}, but what really made me smile was seeing the empty frame awaiting its initial!! ๐
Mandy says
It looks so empty right now, but it makes things so real for me too! I can’t wait until we know what initial we can add to it!
