I have never in my life planned a book launch party.
In fact, I mostly plan kid birthday parties. For kids under age 6.
Ask me how to host adults and I laugh in your face. True dat.
I knew after all of the stress and hard work that I had watched my husband put in to writing this book that we were gonna celebrate. Oh yes we were.
I casually mentioned to my husband that I think we should do a “book launch” party and he immediately liked the idea. Only problem was….I had to google “how to throw a book launch party”…and you’d be surprised how many resources there are NOT.
Unless you are going hollywood style. But I wanted to goย laid backย style.
Apparently laid back and book launch do not get googled together.
So, I made it up as I went. I figured if we had good food, drinks and great music…the rest would fall in to place.
{Thank you Jen from The Polka Dot Posie for the great banner printable!}
{Wish I would have remembered a group photo earlier in the night before people left.
Do you like how I matched his book cover and theme? Ha! I kept calling myself the “Soldier of Party Planning”.
Maybe that’s another book idea, no?
We felt so blessed by everyone who came out to support Jeff and his book. Truly truly great friends we have.
Lots of people wanted an autographed copy of his book {which made me smile}.
Jeff wanted to show his appreciation and give a little “speech” to the guests so about half way through the party we did a champagne toast.
Of course, I taped it. And I cried.
Those party favors that he was talking about….
Huge thanks to The Busy Budgeting Mama for making the cute printable for me and giving me the idea of “sophisticated chocolate and army men”. I even added in a “money pop” {aka blow pop wrapped in a paper money wrapper}.
The next afternoon he had his book signing at our local Barnes & Noble. I told him to watch out because I was gonna bust in those doors like the paparazzi with my giant camera and my “Oh My Gosh it’s JEFF ROSE!” face.
I did not disappoint.
Also noted as the creepy girl in the corner who took lots of photos. OOPS!
But really….THIS is a big deal for us small town folks. It was his moment of fame. And I couldn’t let it go by without being crazy wife.
Thanks to our best friends for making fun of me.
They embrace my crazy.

It was fun to see people come up to him that we didn’t know and say they came to Barnes & Noble just to get a signed copy of his book. Another proud wife moment.
If you haven’t got a copy of his book there’s still time. ๐ GO HERE.
He already has book #2 idea underway…and it involves a co-author. Me.
I don’t know that I can handle the launch of a second book. Ha! We shall see.
