“In The Country”

by Mandy on March 7, 2011

This funny dude has been making me laugh. A LOT. Lately.Toddler

Remember Ming Kei? The little boy in P Man’s pre-k class that was slightly outrageously obnoxious? The one that spit on the teacher.

Well, apparently, a few months ago Ming Kei’s family moved back to China, their home country. Happily Saddily, he is no longer attending P’s pre-k. Not because he is from China. But, because I am pretty sure he hit and kicked my son on more than 5 occasions.

Ahem.

This past weekend we were driving to a restaurant that is in the middle of no where. Literally. You take lots of back roads of nothingness to get there.

We haven’t talked about Ming Kei in months.

Being the curious 3.5 year old he is…the following is the car conversation that P Man had with his daddy:

P Man: “Daddy, WHERE are we??????????”

Daddy:  “We are out in the country buddy.”

P Man: lonnnnnggggg pause

“Hmmm. Is this where Ming Kei lives?”

Daddy:  “No, buddy, not quite. That’s a different kind of country.”

Cutest.Thing.Ever.

I laughed until I almost peed.

Try explaining to a 3 year old the difference between being “in the country” and “the country China”. Wow.
