Remember when my husband decided that he had to have an entire wall of white board for all his “big ideas”?
Well, I decided that I needed to spruce it up a little and add my own “idea”.
I started out with frames that I already had purchased awhile back at TJ Maxx on clearance. I knew these lovely frames would come in handy at some point.
I purchased scrapbook paper from Hobby Lobby for 69 cents a sheet.
I also got these cardboard letters from Hobby Lobby for $2.99 each.
I layed out the letters on the paper over the frames to see how it would look…
… and then decided that I would spray paint the letters brown and off-white.
A quick coat of spray paint in the garage.
Here’s the GINORMOUS “big idea” board before I added the frames.
I used Scotch Mounting Tape to put the letters on the outside of the frame.
Then I hung them above the board!
This project only took me 45 minutes from start to finish. I’m really loving it!
My husband thinks we should add a huge canvas of a light bulb above it. Ummmm. No dude. Not gonna happen.
I get the whole “light bulb” – “idea” correlation, but I am not hanging a picture of a light bulb in my home office.
Am I being out of line?

Cute! Your hubby’s idea isn’t bad…a cool illustration or vintagey picture of a light bulb might look kinda neat. 🙂

CUTE!!!!!!!!! I am doing something kind of similar in my new office/craft room, although my word is “CREATE”. I was just going to cover the letters in fabric or wrap them in twine, but I am digging the frames too 🙂 Nice work crafty lady!

How did I miss this post?! Your “idea” turned out great!! Love the way it looks above Jeff’s giant whiteboard!! LOL!! And that’s a definite “no” on the whole huge light bulb canvas thing!! You’re not out of line at all!

Love this idea!! Did you also frame the white board or did it come that way? I wasn’t sure about that. I so need this for my kitchen or office! I like the white board idea, a lot less messier than a chalk board, which was what I was thinking about doing:) Thanks for the detailed tips!

Oh and for the hubby, I would draw a lightbulb on the white board somewhere just to let him know you like the idea, bc it’s the thought that counts right?!
