Thanks to my husband for ratting me out about putting on make-up before delivery. Love you honey.
But because I’m on cloud nine right now with our newest little buddle of joy…I’ll let it slide.
I mean…really…look at him…
…I could just eat him up!!
Labor and delivery went very well. We arrived at the hospital on Sunday late late (really it was Monday morning about 1:00 am). When I got there they almost wanted to send me home. They decided to monitor me until the morning. Sure enough the contractions started getting closer together…WAY MORE PAINFUL…and I went from 3 cm dilated to 4…to 5…pretty quickly. Unfortunately, I had to wait until almost 8 am for my epidural! I thought I was going to DIE…LITERALLY!
Finally I got the epidural (THANK YOU JESUS) and I felt like a rockstar! Around 10 am the nurse told me that if I felt any pressure to let her know. Well, my goof ball husband was making me laugh, and I seriously felt like the baby was gonna come out. The nurse came in to check me again and I was completely dilated and ready to push!
I had my minor “freak out” moment right before the pushing began. You know…the….HOLY COW I’m about to push a baby out my ****** freak out. The….OH DEAR GOD WE’RE ABOUT TO HAVE 2 KIDS freak out. Or the….I CAN’T DO THIS freak out. Yea. I lost it for a brief moment. I say brief…well because brief was all I had time for.
The doc told me it was “go time”…and not more than 4 pushes (5 minutes) later…Bentley Ferrell Rose made his appearance!
7lbs 13 ounces and 20.5 inches long….we fell in love immediately!
P was able to be in the waiting room with Aunnie and came up just minutes after Bentley’s arrival. He wasn’t too interested at first. He actually was more worried about where the chocolate was. Go figure.
But today…he was very excited to see his new baby brother. At one point I said, “Is that your baby?” He replied with, “No, mommy…that’s your baby, but I wuv him.” P is just precious! I have no doubt he will be a great big brother! I love these two boys!
We plan to go home in the morning and I have TONS more pictures to share!

Mandy, Bentley is beautiful and perfect!!! I bet P is so so so excited as you and Jeff are as well. What fun times it is with a new baby! Enjoy your time and get plenty of rest, despite the excitement. Glad all went well with you.
