See this house…

It might not look like much of a house to you, BUT this is…

…the house that we have spent the last FOUR years in.

The one that we have grown to adore.

The house we have completely remodeled and put our own touch on.

The house that J called home when he was fighting for our freedom in Iraq.

The house that sits in the neighborhood I grew up in…with neighbors I’ve known since I was little.

Our FIRST home.

Where we had our first baby…

…and many many first memories.

Am I ready to let it go?

I have spent many nights in this kitchen perfecting my terrible cooking…

heating up numerous bottles of formula…

and baking my grandma B’s chocolate chip cookies.

And do you know how many times we have entertained in this fabulous room?

The room that makes our house so cool…

the room that took me days to paint…

the room that holds the custom bar my dad made us…

and our Christmas tree in December.

What will I ever do without it?

It’s hard to actually say that we have sold our house. It just seems strange. I love this house. Everything about it, other than the fact that I know we will eventually out grow it.

I know I won’t be as sad to leave it when I am moving to my “dream home”, but it’s hard to see that right now when our lot is nothing but grass.

I will always have a special place in my heart for this house.

I can only hope it’s new owners will treat it as good as we have.

Speaking of new owners, they aren’t kicking us out May 21st after all!! They have agreed to close by May 21st and then rent to us until our house is finished! Could that be any more perfect? I don’t see how. It feels good to know that we won’t be homeless in 30 days. I feel blessed! I guess He…really does know what He’s doing.

I guess this is just a turning point in our lives…one that we are excited to take…but we will be leaving behind a very big part of us here.

We are ready. We are ready to take the leap! The next 6 months will be exciting, stressful, confusing, and fun…but we are ready.

I hope you are ready for lots of posts on building a new house. haha! I have a feeling I might have a lot to say on that topic in the near future.

I knew it would all work out for the best and you wouldn’t be kicked out on the street. I even said a few prayers for you. :) I’m happy that things are working out and even though it will be sad you are 100% right that it will all be worth it when you are able to call the dream house HOME!!! Congrats again!!! XOXO

Aww…what a sweet post. This exactly how I felt just two months ago when we sold ours. Sorry, but I have to warn you: the actually move is going to be even harder! It took me weeks to pack because I choked up everytime I took down a picture frame or decoration!

What an exciting time for you guys!! I can’t wait to see what your new house will look like. That is so wonderful that the buyers seem like really great people and are letting you stay until your house is done. How perfect!

You have an adorable home! I understand your attachment. It’s hard to leave the home that you have made so many special memories in, but your next home will become just as special if not more. Let me know if you need any advice. We have become quite the experts in building and Brons is an Archtitect, so if we can offer any help, please let us know :)

This made me well a bit I have to admit. Houses are special places aren’t they? My boyfriend’s parents live not far from my grandfather’s old house and I love to drive by and think about all the good times we had there.
