After I had Tonya come over and help me stencil my closet for the stencil tutorial, I was REALLY wanting to stencil something on my own. I had the itch!
I’m not sure why since I can hardly find time to pee these days, but I had my mind made up…I was going to stencil the powder room wall.
On a Friday.
When I had all 3 kiddos at home.
Alone.
Ahem.
Here’s the before (as Bents shows you his newest big boy skills during my photo opp). I have always HATED this bathroom. It was my blah bathroom. The one that got no attention…yet the one that all of my house guests use.
It was screaming…“make me pretty!”
About 21 minutes in to my project I thought to myself…”What the h*** was I thinking?” Not because stenciling can be hard. Oh no. Stenciling is actually quite easy.
In case you don’t believe me just watch our tutorial.
No, because my 3 little helpers…were extremely all up in my business or my paint or my ladder or my stencil or my adhesive spray or …… (fill in the blank). You get the point. They decided they wanted nothing to do with their playroom and instead…they wanted everything to do with the not-so-roomy bathroom I was trying to stencil. Bents even had to have his snack floor side as I painted away.
The stencil project took my nearly 8 hours when it probably should have been more like a 3 hour job. But, hey, the boys learned to stencil that day and you know what…I might just put them to work stenciling our entryway next?
Do you like?I’m really digging that it added so much character to this small little bathroom!
Everything that I hung on the wall was stuff that I already had, but wasn’t using.
And yes, I hung it all myself (*pat on the back).
My favorite wall piece…this adorable hand written note that my husband wrote to his father when he was little.
And since we’re doing a powder room tour…here’s the mirror from Pier 1 that was the ONLY piece of the bathroom prior to the stencil project that I liked! ๐
Oh and these cute shelves my dad built! <<COMPLETE TUTORIAL HERE>>
Ok, so maybe I didn’t hate the bathroom. I just didn’t love it.
But now…oh now…I heart it with a capital H!
I also purchased this new rug from Pier 1.
There you have it! The finished powder room – “stencil style”!
There truly are so many different stencil’s you can buy so if you don’t love this one…I would encourage you to check them out at Hobby Lobby and pick one you do like!

Mandy it looks so great! I love the color and the pattern. And I double that you have a gallery wall in there. This tiny bathroom has so much personality! Also, do you have a jar of candy on those shelves!? HAHA!

Great job! I love your helpers. Mine would do the same exact thing! And I don’t know why you don’t like it but I love that bathroom. The stencil wall for sure makes it pop though. I too pat myself on the back when I hang pictures myself.

LOVE it! It breaks up the color and definitely adds character. I know what my next home project will be!

Is that a wedding photo I see on the wall? Seems like a bathroom is kind of a strange place for a wedding photo but to each her own!

Mando…it looks AMAZING!! Will you come up and stencil something in my house? You are becoming quite the stencil master…maybe that should be a side job? You know…cause your day seems so boring and low-key. Ha!

This is really cool. It’s a great alternative to wall paper and a lot easier to change later on.
Question! This is the second bowl style sink I have seen in your home. Are they hard to keep clean? My husband loves them and has always wanted one in our home, but that’s one thing I have always wondered.
Mandy says
I don’t have any issues keeping them cleaning! They are easy to wipe down!
Berlin says
Oh good! Were currently buying a house so I will be looking into these for sure!

Love the corner shelfs. I am making some for my girlfriend. She really like the color of your corner shelfs in the powder room. Can you tell me the color or colors and process to get your results?
Mandy says
I think it was a dark walnut!

I’m just in love with the stenciled wall! Great job!

I love everything! I am doing a powder room redo and I am having a hard time finding a sink that I love but I love yours, where did you get it? It is exactly what I am looking for.

Hi, where did you find your stencil and what is it called? Thank you!
