Winter ONEderland Party Recap

by M on January 17, 2011

I told myself that I was going to go “low key” for Bents 1st birthday party. But, when I ran across Fresh Chick Design Studio’s version of a winter ONEderland party….I may have quickly changed my plans.Winter Onederland I already had Joanne from Printable Party Shoppe designing these adorable invites for me! Seriously, Etsy is my new best friend!

Winter OnederlandI didn’t do NEAR the job that Rebecca did on the table set up. But, I am also not NEAR as crafty.  I was extremely pleased with how my arrangement turned out! I would have liked to put up a back drop of some sort…intead of my maroon walls…but I didn’t want to put any extra holes in the wall. :)

Winter Onederland I had so much fun making the cupcake toppers from her print outs! It was a first time for me…and oh so easy (especially if you buy the 2 inch punch from hobby lobby).

Winter Onederland  A local bakery helped me bring the cake to life! They are the same bakery that created P Man’s race car cake. They are amazing!

Since we weren’t doing a lunch or dinner (only snacks) I really wanted the cake to make a statement! Of course, it wasn’t until after everyone left that I realized I didn’t even serve the ice cream! I must have been a little preoccupied. :)

Winter Onederland   Treat bags – also using the cupcake topper cut outs  to add a little flair.

The signs that Fresh Chick Design Studio created for me were a perfect touch.

See those cloth flowers in the vase…I found those in the $1 bin at Target! Score!

Winter Onederland My version of the lollipop bouquets. I used glass vases that I had around the house and taped ribbon around them. All the lollipops were bought at Walmart in the Christmas clearance isle for 10 cents a piece! I filled the bottom of the vases with gum balls and M&M’s!

Winter OnederlandOne thing that I quickly forgot…ONE year olds have NO idea that you are having this party for them. Bents was CLUELESS! At least he let me put his ”party shirt” on him!

Winter Onederland His view…as he was probably thinking “why are all these people staring at me? And why are they singing?”

Once I gave him the cupcake…I don’t think he cared why everyone was staring at him. He officially loves him some icing. Just like his brother.

Winter OnederlandThanks to everyone who attended and helped us celebrate our little man’s FIRST birthday!

Everything turned out perfectly!!! And as much as you don’t think so… you’re becoming quite crafty! Now you’ll have 3 parties a year to keep getting better & better ;) Love Bents matching shirt too. And good news is I won’t be getting married again or having another charity event for awhile so I won’t have to miss the next party!! xoxo

So glad we were able to be there, except for the whole puking issue that is. :) You did a great job, and I don’t think anyone missed the ice cream with the delish cake and cupcakes. Great party, girl!
