I couldn’t resist myself, I had to jump on board and do a recap of 2008! Besides the fact that I started this blog in 2008, I feel like I have so much more to share with you all! It has been a great year for the Rose’s (despite the stock market not cooperating) and…I’m warning you now…I spent a lot of time trying to narrow down the pics to use in this post…and there are still ALOT! Here’s a little walk down memory lane………..
We started off January with daddy’s 30th birthday!! The B IG 3 0!! A quick hault in the party for a boys group shot with all J’s BF’s!
We even got a visit from one of our favorite Uncle’s from L.A. UNCLE STEVE!! He was meeting P for the first time and he didn’t come empty handed…he brought P an entire winter wadrobe…check it out! Not to mention…the “infamous” CG you hear about…also brought by Uncle Steve.
In February, at 7 months old, P had his first taste of chlorine water. Although, he took it like a champ and LOVED the pool!
How could I not include the famous “STARE DOWN” picture!
In March we got our first family shot where EVERYONE was smiling! Hey…when your a mom…this is an important milestone. P took his very first plane ride in April when we went to Las Vegas to visit Grandma Lilly. I’m not gonna and say it went perfect (the plane ride that is), but he did decent for being 9 months!

Nothing like a little desert sun!
Before we realized it, May was here and we headed to Chicago to visit the Butterfields! It was Jackson’s 1st birthday. P and him hit it off well!
We also got to meet my BF Jen’s newest addition, Addison! If you’ve been to my blog…you’ve probably been to hers…and I got to give it to her…she has some VERY funny mommy posts!
Summer was upon us….and you know what that means…Gigi and Papa were ready for boating season. P got his first feel for sand (in his hands AND in his mouth – more than once).
Papa even let him drive the boat! As you can see, he is very proud of himself.
In June, my mama turn FIFTY and we threw her a huge surprise party!! She was shocked, to say the least. We had so many great people show up to her party. Not that I’m surprised…she has the biggest heart of anyone I know…who wouldn’t want to be there to celebrate her 50th with her!
June also meant “boys trip” for J! They went on their “Yellowstone”, aka Smokey Mountains, trip and had a great time sleeping in the wildnerness for 5 days. Honestly, THANK GOD I wasn’t invited! Seriously, camping…for 5 days…with no shower…10 mile hikes…and protein bars for lunch??? Not my idea of vacation. Let the boys be boys!
July was a big month for us…the P MAN TURNED ONE!! We had his fishy themed party at the Sprehe’s pool and he had lots of his lil buddies show up! He was OBSESSED with the cake. He honestly would have eaten the entire cake if I would have let him.
Not only does he like cake…but apparently his toes are good too! Auntie taught him this one.
J and I also went on a boat trip with some of our new Twin Lakes friends! We had SUCH A GREAT TIME! J learned to knee board. He tried the skiing thing…but I schooled him on that. Hey, I’ve been skiing since age 5…give a girl some credit here!
August came and P was a swimming fool! The lake…the pool…the tub…it didn’t matter to him…as long as there was water, he was swimming! Gigi helped teach him how to doggy paddle.
In September we taught P how to “save”! Literally, there was a short period of time where we could keep him occupied by letting him fill his piggy bank with coins. He would keep going and going and going. That phase has sadly ended and he gets bored with it after 50 cents.
September also meant the State Fair…and if you remember from my previous posts…P HATED the rides! I looked like MEGA MEAN MOMMY after attempting an unsuccessful ride #2.
The Damen girls made a visit to 703 in October. I love this picture because Nina and I are both making the same gesture at J (my “oh so great” photographer husband) as he is taking pictures before we are even ready. Then you’ve got Jenna with the “are you serious?” look on her face…and good ole Ann…smiling away like nothing’s wrong. She must be the seasoned one…maybe she’s done some modeling. Either that or learned from Nadia…that you just keep smiling…even if the photographer’s acting like an A-hole.
Nina and I attended the “Little Black Dress” party. I’m not sure it was exactly what we expected…but any time spent with Nin…is a good time!
October also meant P got to carve pumpkins for the first time. He adored the pumpkin patch and could have stayed there all day playing in those pumpkins.
In November, Amy from PF PHOTOGRAPHY was nice enough to take some family pics for us! She did a great job!
Time flew by, and guess what…it was already December. So hard to believe our lil guy was 17 months! Although Santa wasn’t his favorite this year…his babysitter Emily did get him a singing snowman that he carried everywhere. Thankfully, Christmas is over and the singing snowman is hibernating till next Christmas. 🙂
What will 2009 bring? Lots in store for HOUSE OF ROSE! I’m going to go ahead and make a prediction…most of our year will consist of building our new house and potty training P! This is one of my favorite pictures of the three of us on our property where our new house will be built.
I can’t wait to share my 2009 with all of you! Thank you for being a loyal reader! My life would never be the same without my blog BF’s!
