It’s been 9.5 years since my husband and I have taken a tropical vacation.
We’ve been to many places, but nothing compares to the beautiful beaches of Cozumel.
Holy cow. I’m in love.
In true House of Rose fashion…. I give you the, “AHHHHHH! I’m in Cozumel”Β {with NO kids} pose. π
No really. If you need me? I’ll be here…
Heaven.On.Earth.
Do y’all ever find amazing vacation spots and think, “How am I just now discovering this place?”
Because that’s how I’m feeling right now about Cozumel, Mexico. Who’s been holding out on me about this place????
Shame on you.
It makes me really realize that my little bubble of a world in Illinois is exactly just that. A bubble.
I need to get out more!
Sooooo….. I’m curious what other amazing vacation spots I’ve been deprived of.
Where’s your favorite place to vacation?? Share in the comments…PLEASE. I’m begging.

Ahhh, such beautiful waters. I REALLY want to visit here, however it may be a bet. (S/n: you’re totally gorgeous!) I recommend a train ride through the countryside of Europe (I went through Germany and passed through places like Dusseldorf & Cologne(sp?)) β so serene & beautiful especially with those big ol’ castles!

Mandy,
First of all I just wanted to say that your blog inspired me to create my own. I just recently got my domain and followed all of your steps and I am now working on my passion for inspiring others like you inspired me. I just wanted to say thank you so much and hopefully I can read a wide audience someday!
Second, whatever you do, DO NOT ride/rent the scooters. They are cheap but deadly. My husband and I rented one from cozumel on our honeymoon in October and we got into a freak accident. You can read it here if you’d like http://youngwifelife.com/2014/01/13/honeymoon/
but just a fair warning!
third, on our honeymoon we went to haiti, jamaica, grand cayman, and cozumel. If you get the chance you MUST go to grand cayman and swim with the sting rays. One of the most incredible experiences I’ve ever had. Those pictures are also in the honeymoon blog.
I hope you enjoy your time and relax!
Thanks so much!
Mindy P.

Wow, that place looks fantastic! I am so glad for you π Our favorite place is Croatia – but I think if Mexico would be just a little bit closer to Europe, I would definetly give it a go π

Bora Bora! Although I guess it’s not really a “vacation” spot. We went there on our honeymoon and it is the most amazing place I have been. Hope you are having fun!

Check out Sayulita, Mexico. Not a resort town, but a beautiful little fishing/surfing village. You can rent gorgeous houses there for really cheap. So much fun!!!

I’d fight you for that hammock spot! What a wonderful place to relax. My favorite tropical destination has been Kauai! We honeymooned there 11 years ago and still daydream about returning. The island was so laid back, non touristy, and full of tropical gorgeousness and secluded beaches. I’d recommend it in a heartbeat and beg to tag along with you!

I LOVE Cozumel! We went there for our Honeymoon and plan to go back someday. It is beautiful and the

We live in (North) Texas so for the past two summers, we have been driving 12 hours to the very tip of Texas to South Padre Island. We rent a condo with friends and just hang on the beach or at the pool then back to the beach. It is SO awesome! I can’t believe this is only our 3rd year doing it! Our boys are 14,10,&6 so they will remember the time we spend here as they get older.
Steph says
First I think I recognize that hammock/pier setup- are you guys at the Secrets Aura?! We love Coz- that’s where we got engaged! But other favorites include the Cayman Islands & Roatan (Honduras)! Have a great vacay!

Enjoy your vacation. Looks amazing!

Looks beautiful! I really want to visit, and I was just telling Wes last week that we need to plan a trip there. You two definitely deserve it π

LOVED Cozumel when we stopped there on our honeymoon. We just got back from a trip to Park City, Utah for some skiing–and it was our first vacation ever without the kiddos. So relaxing, and so much less stuff to pack on the airplane! π Have fun!

Aruba and Jamaica…you MUST go!!!!!!!!!!!

So many places! So when you go to the Philippines and pick up your baby, try to do a beach vacay there too. Yes there will be kids, but hey, you can get a nanny to help out. Really. Boracay is great but very saturated. Try Palawan or Bohol. My husband and I went to Bohol beach club when I was 5 months pregnant and OMG amazing!
Other awesome vacay spots: Cinque Terre Italy. Seriously one of the places I consider heaven on earth.
But yes, when you get your Filipino baby, make sure you go on a Filipino beach vacation too! I promise it’s awesome.

We went to Cancun two years ago and I thought it was so beautiful! But if you want something that can def compete with it in the states try Rosemary Beach, FL. BEAUTIFUL place! We have a condo downtown rented for this summer.

Everything is just incredible and the people and atmosphere are heaven-like. Maui would be my favorite island out of them all but you really just can’t go wrong with any of them!! Enjoy enjoy every childless second!!

Good for you! I love it when people get to get away from their every day lives and take a break! We love Cozumel too! We have been blessed to travel to Europe, which is amazing – my daughter is saving to go back. But my favorite place in the world is Charleston, SC. It is perfect. You must go. Have fun! Susan

My husband and I go on vacation without the kids every two years. By far our favorite place is Costa Rica. I can’t even begin to tell you how amazing it is! I love Cozumel!! The water is beautiful there!! My favorite trips have been in Europeβ¦and my favorite of them has definitely been Paris. It’s more of a sight-seeing on the go trip, but so worth it!!

Playa del Carmen is also AWESOME! It’s about 45 min south of Cancun. We like it better than Cozumel. Lots of. Great little hotels in the town. 5th Ave is super fun.
