The Rose’s had a fun filled weekend of DOGS! As you may know, not only do we have a boxer, but so do my parents. Do these two look inseparable or what?
Holly, or Holly Beanie as I call her, is my parents boxer and most importantly…she is Klaya’s best friend. You see…however….Holly Beanie is a spoiled rotten little girl! She does not take NO for an answer. When she is ready to play she will not give up. Whether she is nudging you with her nose (toy in mouth) or sitting by your side whining….you must submit to her requests. Unless, of course, you can tune that kind of thing out. We are not so good at that. Look at her cute little face. How do you say no to that? Can you see why a weekend with her can be so demanding? I am not sure who is worse when it comes to the need for attention…her or P??? I am thinking it is her!
I am not complaining so please don’t take this the wrong way. We love to have her over…but we are glad when she goes home too! haha! It works out nice because when we are out of town, my parents will keep Klay and when they are out of town we will keep Holly. It’s a nice trade off. Although K is not quite as high maintenance…she does a darn good job of being all up in your business. Having a 52 lb. dog sitting in your lap is not everyone’s idea of a good cuddle buddy. So, trust us, we are very aware that K can be just as annoying as a house guest.
Every morning when I drop off P at gigi and papa’s for the day…guess who get’s to come too? That’s right, Miss K! What a lucky dog, right? It’s like our own personal doggy daycare for her where she gets to spend the ENTIRE day with her bf HB. So, again, I think we are getting the better end of the deal here. We only have to keep HB when my parents are out of town. They have to keep K everyday while we work!
P loves to have both dogs around! They are so good with him. His favorite thing to do is take them for a walk. He can spot the leash from rooms away (even when I try to hide it). The dogs know as soon as they see the leash in hand…that they get to go for a walk. That’s why we try not to let P walk around with the leash unless we are really going on a walk. It gets the dogs all excited over nothing. And nobody likes to be teased! So I guess P figured if he could just lock the dogs downstairs….he could walk around with the leash in hand and not be bothered and harrassed to go outside. What a smart lil fella he is.
Before I end this post I must introduce you to one of my favorite boxer rescue websites! If any of you have a heart like mine…one that adore’s pets…you will enjoy reading the amazing stories of some of these boxers and what this organization does to save these dogs! We need more organizations like Northeastern Boxer Rescue and we need more responsible pet owners!!!!

So glad to hear you’re a fan of rescues! We adopted our Dobie Axel over a year ago from a local Doberman rescue, and it’s the best thing we could’ve done to add to our family. I agree with you…those are wonderful places that save these pups so they can wait for the perfect family.
