I guess since I am having blankets embroidered with his name on them…it’s OFFICIAL…we have named baby #3!
Sorry if it seems as if I have been trying to “keep a secret”, but I wanted to make sure we weren’t going to change our mind. And up until just last week, I was still unsure.
Luckily, after much deliberation, we have decided to name our newest edition…
SLOANE JEFFREY ROSE
To be exact.
I mentioned a LONG time ago (before we knew the gender) that I liked Sloane for a girls name. But, after a little convincing of the hubs, we have decided that it fits just as good for a boys name. We love how it goes with Parker and Bentley.
And who doesn’t like them a little “McSteamy”! I know, I know. His real name is Mark Sloan…but they call him Sloan and I think it’s rather handsome and it convinced me even more that men can go by the name Sloan!
One of our criteria for picking a name was that we wanted it to be one syllable. I liked it from the beginning, but it didn’t fit my “PB&J” theme so I was unsure. However, after searching and searching, I just couldn’t come up with a J name that fit our family. So “PB&S” it is!
All of our kids have meaningful family middle names so that is why we chose to go with Jeffrey, my husbands name. Plus, my husband is dying to call him “SJ”. I think I’ll stick with calling him Sloane. But “SJ” may be his blog name!

Love it! I only know one Sloane (which is a girl) but I totally agree that it is a gender-neutral name. I love it -it goes great with Jeffrey!
watch out when he’s a teenager (mark sloane is McSteamy)! Love it..this was on our short list for a girls name, but hubby can recite every line to ferris bueller’s day off and said all he could think about was Sloane Peterman 🙂 hope the last few weeks are kind to you!
Love it! Dipal and I had a friend named Sloane in college who was a boy. He was actually one of Dipal’s frat brothers and his sister is one of my good friends from my sorority. I was going to ask you the other day at the park what SJ stood for, but I didn’t know if you were ready to share. Can’t wait to meet little Sloane! 🙂
