Back in November I purchased my ticket to BlissDom 2012! For those of you who are wondering, “what in the heck is BlissDom?” check it out by clicking below!
I am very excited to be attending my first “official” blogging conference! I went to the Financial Blogger Conference this past year with my husband and I had a such a great time (remember I met the two coolest girls ever – Linda and Besty?)
After I left that conference, I decided that one of my goals for 2012 would be to attend BlissDom! So…in 50 days…I will be in Nashville, TN having the time of my life with tons of other bloggers. Some that I have been corresponding with since 2008, but have never met in person!
BUT, as a BlissDom “newbie”, I need some advice from the veterans…

A friend of mine and I are starting a getting ready for Blissdom series on our blogs- starting tomorrow. So, look for that. 🙂
But, if you have specific questions, feel free to ask.
I’m not going, but will look forward to reading your comments and a recap. I’d love to attend a conference in the Fall or maybe next year!
GAH! I keep going back and forth. I think I need to bite the bullet and go. So many fun girls and such a fun weekend. I think it’s only a 6 hour drive from the Bloom to Nashville.

Jealous of you girls going this year, but Dipal and I are going to be out of town (Imagine that!) so it wouldn’t have worked for me this year. Maybe next year! Can’t wait to hear all about it!!

You should bring back the bangs! You looked so awesome with them!!

This will be my 4th conf. so I’ll tell you what I’ve learned.
Dress comfortable with comfortable shoes (cute but comfy). The hotel is huuuuge and you walk a lot!
Bring business cards but don’t spend a lot of money on them. You meet tons of people and get lots of cards but I have never come home and looked at every one of them. Just sayin..

I attended Blissdom conference for the 1st time in 2011. I have to say I had mixed feelings about the conference. I read a lot about the conference and how others had such a great time.
I think it all went weird for me when I got there and tried to “Check” in and they could not find my name on the list.. Thank goodness I had a copy of my tickets (This is a must!! Print your tickets!!). I was treated a little bad and was told to wait to the side.. Then left there for about 20 minutes….I spoke up and finally got checked in.
The other thing.. I was soooo overwhelmed! The Hotel is huge (Got lost a few times.. Did find out they have color coded carpet in a way. I remembered the color of the carpet to our room and made it much easier to get back to my room). I was overwhelmed by all the people, what I forgot to bring, what everyone was wearing etc.
Now… It might look like above that I dis-liked Blissdom. I had a great time and learned a lot for this year! 1. Do make business cards (I forgot to put my actual name on mine last year..ooops!). 2. Bring comfy shoes.. I never wear high heals much but though.. These would be so cute.. I about died at the end of the night…There will be people there dressed to the 9 (I am not sure how they have feet left at the end of the night!). 3. It is ok to wear jeans-I did not last year but will this year. You do a lot of sitting and lets face it.. sometimes dress pants are not as comfy! 4. Talk to people-my roommate was all business for the most part causing me to miss out.. This year.. I am branching out. 5. Bring a camera-I got my picture taken with Michelle Branch and Mat Kearney!! Wow.. Did that make my day.. Even made my husband jealous that I got to hear them both! 6. Leave room for goodies-Luckily I am from Southern Indiana and I drove… But you get lots of goodies! I had two bags full!
I read a little about you and saw that your from Southern IL! My husband is from a little town called Eldorado.
