First off, THANK YOU for supporting us and loving us through this entire adoption process. We are so grateful to have you encouraging us every step of the way. It has made more of a difference than you will ever know.
In case you missed the BIG news for our family, we got “THE CALL”… The one we have been “officially” waiting on for 40+ months! Here is the update from my Instagram back on February 17, 2016 – the day that changed our lives forever.
Yesterday we boarded a plane to Los Cabos for a little adulting. Little did we know that while we were in the air from Houston to Mexico… We would get the biggest phone call of our life. THE CALL. Yes, the call we have been waiting on for almost 4 years came during a 2 hour stretch when our phones had to be turned off. Ha! But y’all… When we landed and it popped up that I had a voicemail from our adoption agency… I started crying like a crazy person right there in row 38. And the crying hasn’t stopped!
We had to get through customs before we could call them back (which took over 90 minutes, but who’s counting), but finally… FINALLY… We got the best news of our life while we stood in baggage claim in the Los Cabos airport! And my cry went from the crazy cry to the ugly ugly cry. Ha! We can’t wait to share more news with you, but for now we are keeping most of the details hush hush until we can get home and tell our boys in person that they are getting a new sibling!!!! Right now they know nothing. We really want to be able to see their expressions and share this moment with them when we are able to hug their necks! Oh my goodness, they are going to flip! I’m flipping! And this is the best start to our adulting trip that I could have imagined!
The emotions I felt that day were like NONE OTHER I have ever felt. I went through the entire spectrum of SHOCK/EXCITEMENT/AMAZEMENT/TEARS OF JOY.
Thanks to my hubby for capturing that special phone call. It was a phone call I will never forget. I was just looking at him like, “NO WAY, NO WAY… THIS IS NOT HAPPENING RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW!” LOL!
And honestly, I never want to forget what it felt like to hear the wonderful news that day.
To say that it was hard to keep the secret from our boys for 5 whole days would be an understatement. I was busting from the seams and I could not wait to get home to share the exciting news with them!
I don’t know that I have ever been happier to return from a trip.
We didn’t get home till late last night so we broke the news to the boys first thing this morning before they headed off for school! I’ve been dying to share it with y’all since, but I was waiting on confirmation as to what we could and could not share specifically.

Congratulations!! She’s one blessed little girl to have those three big brothers there to look out for her and to have you two as parents. I hope you don’t have to wait much longer to have her in your arms.

I have checked back on your blog frequently to see if there is any news on the adoption front for you as we were approved for adoption from the Philippines the same time you were! Congratulations on the news of your little girl!! So excited for your family!
We also got “the call” for our long-awaited little one last month. He is a little boy who just turned two last week. We are beyond thrilled! Since we both are in IL, would love to try to connect somehow.
