Gosh you guys, it feels like forever since I have randomly posted something about life lately. I miss it.
I want to get back to posting more frequently like this. It seems like Instagram has taken over all my story telling. Haha! I can easily tell a short little story and post a pic so much faster than doing an entire blog post.
But I just scrolled through my posts and thought, I NEED TO GET BACK TO BLOG POSTS.
So what better day to throw in a random post than daddy’s birthday!
Because hello, I love these two cuties together.
Seriously, I knew I would adore watching Jeff with our daughter, but I never imagined I would nearly melt each time I saw them together.
It’s the sweetest thing. Gahhhhh.
I feel like the worst wife ever because I literally hadn’t got Jeff a birthday gift until about an hour ago. I am usually so on top of things, but adding a 4th child has basically turned me into one big excuse. #itisbad
I mean, it’s a good excuse, don’t get me wrong… but I need to get it together one of these days.
I’m so thankful for my husband. You guys, he puts up with me and that in itself is impressive. I say all the time, if I was married to myself? I wouldn’t be able to handle it. Haha.
Sometimes I expect too much, I’m not as affectionate as I should be, and I tend to be TERRIBLE at saying “I’m sorry”.
But Jeff Rose, he still loves me.
He still tells me I am perfect. He still wants and tries to be a better husband, even when he’s wayyyy above average on the husband scale (if there even is scale – which I am sure there isn’t).
I feel lucky that I have him by my side. Especially this year, more than ever before. I’ve been in a funk lately and he’s my constant. He’s always encouraging me that I am good enough.
I wish I told him more how appreciative I am for all he does for our family. I’m getting teary just thinking about it.
I guess my attempt to make him eat triple chocolate cake tonight for his birthday will be my way of saying “I love you”. The man does love him some chocolate cake.
I’m also glad his love language isn’t receiving gifts. EEEEEEK.
I’m gonna make it up to him… or I’ll just make out with him later and that will erase away his memory of me forgetting an actual gift. I know what works. 😉
We also just started The Love Habits Challenge again yesterday for anyone who wants to join in! It’s a simple marriage challenge that will help you feel more connected to each other.
We totally needed it in our life right now. When we feel like we are letting life take over… we try to be intentional about changing that.
Join us if you want! Head over to our private Marriage More Facebook group if you want the details. Request to join and I will add you.
And don’t forget to wish my hubby a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Love you babe! You say I am the glue, but I would argue that.
Here’s to hoping my copycat In-N-Out Burger recipe lives up to his expectations.
