Today was LONG. And to be honest…I’m so tired of driving. Errrrrrrr, riding rather.
Jeff Rose doesn’t think I’d be a good driver in this beast. I kind of agree with him. I’m letting him handle the captain stuff.
We drove from Amarillo to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Along the way we stopped at Tucumcari for some lunch. My husband’s goal on this trip is to eat at authentic places (not chain restaurants) and when I say this town had nothing. I do mean nothing. Except a Sonic which he refused to go to since we have Sonic. So instead we stopped at a local place. It was the most disgusting experience in my restaurant visiting life ever.
I posted this earlier:
“I’m gonna need a brief moment to recover from that lunch adventure. My husband just made us stop in the middle of nowhere (Tucumcari, New Mexico to be exact) at a restaurant that I’m certain wouldn’t pass any restaurant report card. I saw ants eating a dead fly on the window seal. There are some dirty things in this world that I can tolerate…but dirty restaurants isn’t one of them.”
Anyway, once that experience was passed us we arrived in Albuquerque and did some swimming and then headed to the mountains to take a tram ride.
Except the tram ride we took just so happens to take you to 10,000+ elevation. Did I tell you I’m afraid of heights? #awesomesauce
I was a hot nervous mess the entire time. Especially at the top where you get out and we ate at the restaurant up there. There are rails everywhere, but still…all I could think was boy overboard. I might have even cried on the way down the mountain. The stress got to me.
The good new is we met some wonderful RV neighbors tonight that had 2 little boys. And guess what? They had toys! Something we do not. Hehe.

The tram is my favorite!! My husband and I don’t like heights either but we went with my aunt last year and loved it. Scary going up and scary going down but other wise it was awesome. 🙂

The picture of you guys at the restaurant should be an ad for Calgon…it’s the perfect “Take me away!” Moment heehee!

You are brave woman Mandy Rose!

I feel your pain. We traveled from Wyoming to Minnesota near the Canadian border with four kids ages 7-3m old. Brave or stupid? But really it was a blast and even what was bad at the time, is hilarious to talk about now! Good luck with the rest of your travels!

Looks like the boys are having a blast! I don’t think I’ve ever seen Bents smile so much 🙂 Enjoy the rest of your trip.

I love these daily updates! I’d like to do a trip like this, but not sure if I’d make it. That’s a lot of driving! It’d be cool to see a little map with a dotted line, marking all the places you visited and how far you traveled.
Do you have an easy way of getting all your pictures onto your blog post besides, plugging in your camera>downloading pics to comp>uploading to post? Can’t wait to see the rv tour!
