Occasionally my kids get super excited about certain projects…and this candy cane tutorial is definitely one of them.
My oldest learned how to make these at school from his awesome teacher and he’s been making them every day since. He taught both of his brother how to do it and now they are all hooked.
To say that my house is full of paper candy canes would be a huge understatement. In fact, they’ve used so much of my printer paper that I no longer have any left.
Parker asked if we could make a video and show all mommy’s blog friends how to do it.
Of course, I said you mean all mommy’s blog friend’s kids?
“Yea yea, I mean the kids. Let’s teach them all how to do it.”

Here’s all you need:
Scissors (supervised scissor cutting if your kids are little) Paper (any kind will work) Markers Tape A PencilAnd here you go…a video tutorial to show you EXACTLY how easy it is from the 2nd grader himself.
This is totally real life so I left in some super funny parts of what typically happens at our house during any project…fighting. Yay.
These make great ornaments or gift toppers as well!

This is my house to a “T”. I have 3 boys as well and the fighting/arguing is all day everyday! Nice to know I’m not alone! 🙂

Goodness, you have some adorable boys! I was CRACKING up at the part where he forgot the pencil and wanted to do the entire video over… lol! I am pinning this, because my daughter LOVES crafts and since I will be home with her on Christmas break for two weeks, this may be something to keep her preoccupied while I need to clean or something! ha! thx!

No lie, I watched this video like 5 times! I have two boys (3 and 1.5) and this just made me crack up because I totally ‘get’ the unedited parts! By the way, how stinkin’ cute is your son totally loving his five minutes of fame on camera! He explained the directions really well! love, love, love!

Love it!! Christmas break day one starts tomorrow with my four boys. I’ve been looking for simple activities to keep them busy(and to keep the rough housing at bay????). This will be perfect! Thanks for sharing!

Oh Mandy, i have the exact blonde version of your boys! if we made a video it would be pretty much the same….made me laugh so hard. Now I am going to go give up a package of printer paper and introduce my sons to this fun idea. Thanks! Merry Christmas!
