Most people that start a blog would love to make an extra couple hundred dollars. It took me several months before I made my first $100.
Mandy’s blog took years before she actually made any money from it.
To make money from your blog is tough. Apparently Holly Johnson from ClubThrifty.com didn’t get that memo.
After starting her blog, it took Holly a blazing 11 months to replace her income from her previous job. 11 months!
In fact, she’s on pace to DOUBLE her old 9-5 income ALL from her blogging efforts. Impressive!

I love listening to your podcast and I just reviewed too! Great to hear both of your perspectives and the back story of how you’ve both made it work online. I also went to say hello to Holly and Kate!

Holly (and Greg) have been hustlin’ since day one. I started around the same time, and have seen them just blow up and BE the online writers everyone wants to follow. Her success if fully deserved, and hope to see them continue to grow at this astronomical rate. Great interview, great content in here to glean from.

Love this! I’ve been blogging as a hobby for a few years. I say hobby because i “wanted” it to be a business but i never treated it as one. I had this cushy job and it was hard to breakaway. Now the company is shutting down and the idea of being on the job hunt doesn’t sound appealing. I know i’m a good writer, i have blogs but sometimes i lack the confidence in myself but listening to your podcasts, seeing sites like ClubThrifty.com it reminds me WHY i am doing this. Why i am now treating it like a business. The freedom. The sentiments in this podcast about working on vacation and giving up some things for the freedom, thats what its about. This podcast gave me that boost i was desperately in need of. I know that sites can take a while to take off and make money but its all about the hustle. Do the work. Be consistent and be confident!!! There is no alternative. Thanks guy!
