I must say that it was a very relaxing (as relaxing as having 3 kids can be) Easter for us this year. We stayed home and Gigi and Poppy came over for steaks!
Gigi is really in to the Easter egg dyeing…THANK GOODNESS because mommy is not a huge fan. I like to take pictures while she mans the egg coloring station.
Does egg dyeing stress anyone else out? Phew.
I can’t even begin to think of all the cute and creative egg dyeing ideas on Pinterest…that would just send me right over the edge.
We use a dozen eggs and the $2 kit from Walmart and call it a day.
P was actually old enough this year to control his egg dyeing ability.
Happy “type A” heart.
Bents?
Not so much.
You see that vein popping out of his neck? That’s because he was screaming “MEEEEEEEEEE!! MEEEEEEE!”
He really wanted to do it himself folks. I swear he was terrified he wasn’t going to get a turn.
Even Gigi was nervous…
Ha! Those two pictures say it all. Her face was probably saying what my mouth was screaming.
This year I had big ambitions of ordering really cute personalized Easter baskets from PBK…and then…well then I realized we were 6 days from Easter and still Easter basket-less.
Target saved the day with these adorable blue and green baskets!
Easter morning…matching baskets filled with goodies!
They were all trying to show me what they got at the same time!!
“Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!”
This year the Easter bunny hid 59 eggs. And here’s the best part. Remember the stressful Easter egg dying process that makes me want to go jump off a cliff…the lovely Easter bunny FORGOT to hide those eggs. Makes total sense.
It would have helped me out too because I was totally worried that with an “odd” number of eggs…we would have a wrestling match over that 59th egg.
To my surprise these boys played like nice bunnies when it came to hunting their eggs. *shocked*
I am still wondering how I got stuck cleaning up the aftermath though?
How was your Easter? Am I alone in the whole “Easter egg dyeing sucks” mentality?
Did you get a chance to celebrate the true meaning of Easter? I know we had one of the best services at church Easter Sunday! I hope, between dyeing eggs and eating candy, you had time to celebrate Him!
Today I’m linking up with Kelly’s Korner for Show Us Your Life – Moms of Boys! I figured this post is a great example of “a day in the life’ of a mom with boys!

Don’t forget to pop over and watch my video for the Get Rich Slowly video contest! PLEASE! The more views the better chance I will have at winning. Ok, if I’m being honest…I’ll never win. But, I would like to get more views than my husband (insert evil laugh). 🙂 Kidding kidding.

As you know, I do not enjoy the egg dyeing process at all and even though we only did 8 this year, I stressed over each one. Not about how they would look, but about how the dye was going to look stained all over my floor… I did try to do the rubber band and sticker tricks from Pinterest and they did not turn out at all. I am all for the $2 kit and calling it a day. Glad you had a nice holiday!

Ha ha ha!! I swear you & I must have been separated at birth! We have NEVER done the whole Easter egg dyeing thing because just the thought of it, TOTALLY stresses me out!! I can just see the dye being spilled everywhere & eggs being launched across the room like baseballs! Maybe next year, maybe outside?!
So glad you guys had a great Easter!! Loved seeing all your pics!!

You are not alone! Mason was a mess dying eggs this year. It completely stressed me out and in the end, he was over it after about 4 eggs and my mom and I got stuck dying the rest while daddy entertained Mason.

I am with you and all these other ladies. It puts me into a full blown SWEAT! I am not a crafty person one bit which probably does not help. I love the photos you captured of your mom helping. These are priceless!

LOVE the pictures of your mom with Bentley! Too cute!! I’m with you on the whole egg coloring thing too. We did it with Deana this year, and she basically ended up doing it for us which was fine by me! It was quick and painless! Haha! I still get so confused about what we should be doing tradition-wise for all these holidays. I mean, we had stuff we did as kids that I liked, but then I see other people’s ideas and I like those too. {Pinterest adds even more to the mix!} Guess I need to decide since Jayden is 4 already! 🙂

Easter egg coloring sucks. Period. It’s always a disaster, with is why I let my mom dye Eggs with addie at her house this year. Addie brought all of her eggs home and her and Blake played “Easter Egg Hunt” in the backyard for hours. But then Howie found a few of those eggs and ate them. Shell and all. Can you even IMAGINE what that dog smelled like for the next two days?
