One thing I realized about Easter this year is that three boys = A LOT of Easter egg stuffing. Phew.
One thing I failed to realize about Easter this year…I did not designate each boy a “color” for their egg hunt.
Fail.
There was definitely a few throw downs over whose turn it was to get the egg.
I have learned my lesson and next year…I will make sure that each child has their own color. And I will make sure I have the same amount of each color. Filled with the exact same things. {Thank you to the few that suggested that neat little idea on my Facebook Fan Page.}
Who knew there could be so much controversy over Starburst or Hershey Eggs? Headache.
Besides the Easter egg hunt fail…we took the boys to our local science center this weekend.
I hate when I don’t carry around my good camera and I resort to documenting family outings with my iphone.
But the truth is, sometimes carrying the Canon in public is like having a fourth child. And right now, I like to leave the house with the least amount of things possible.
One day soon…I will have four children. So today I will enjoy the ease of public outings with three. 🙂
We live in small town and so our science center is really just a large rented out space in our less than average mall. I’ve actually passed the science center for nearly 5 years and every time I would walk by and roll my eyes.
But to be honest, the kids had an absolute blast. And I kind of enjoyed the fact that it wasn’t large and overwhelming.
We could waste hours and hours in there. Tons of things to explore.
I’m sure there is probably an age limit…don’t-cha-think?
The truth comes out…I truly do have four kids already.
It was nice to just get the boys out of the house and DO SOMETHING! Since my MIL arrived 2 weeks ago they have literally been hanging out at home at ton. While that’s nice and convenient they also need to run out their energy somewhere besides the basement.
Have you ever seen one of the hurricane simulators? It’s kinda self-explanatory…it’s suppose to simulate the wind of a hurricane.
For $2.
Hubs thought it would be fun to take the boys in it. You can barely see, but if you look closely at the left picture you can see SJ in the front. He liked it for about 2.5 seconds and then he screamed his brains out {middle picture}.
He enjoyed it much more from the other side of the glass {far right picture}.
We ended our mall trip with the obligatory visit to see the Easter bunny. The lady who was working there suggested that the boys all sit/stand around the bunny rather than sit on his lap.
At first I thought…geez…I know my kids aren’t all dressed up {one of them was wearing hunter green pants and a mint shirt – eeeek} and we weren’t sporting the typical “suit and tie” that some kids come with, but come on lady. They had a bath this morning.
And then I realized…it had nothing to do with their lacking Easter attire. In her eyes, my boys were TOO BIG to be sitting on his lap.
Tears.
When I looked back at the photo the first thing that went through my mind….“When did our youngest child start looking as old as our 3 year old???”
I think it’s pretty clear that they had a great time.

You might have already seen this, but for as much as you love coke, thought you might get a kick out of this: http://www.tickledpinkstudios.net/2012/02/11/for-the-love-of-diet-coke/

Not intended to be snarky at ALL, but your boys are not properly secure in their car seats. The boy in the front left is not tight enough and the clip should be at armpit level. The boy on the front right has his arms completely out of the straps, which is very dangerous.
Again, not intended to make you feel bad or call you out on anything, but I have read your blog long enough to know how much you cherish your boys.

I appreciate your concern. My youngest always pushes the harness down after I buckle him. As far Bents having his arms out…he does do that occasionally and most of the time I make him put them back correctly (since he’s old enough to know better). I hadn’t noticed that he took his arms out until we were already home.

Love the science Center. I LOL at the picture of your hubby. That would be mine. Sometimes he is worst then the kids. Don’t even get me started on stray dogs. He would keep everyone if I let him. We have one outside dog and we will never have more then that. He is such a kid at heart!!
I think that lady should have at least let the 2 little boys sit on the Easter Bunny’s lap. That wasn’t very nice. Your boys are so cute!
Looks like they had a fun Easter!
