Now that I have finally caught up on all my sleep from FINCON {and the yard sale} I have been thinking about how much fun I had in Denver.
I truly walked in to last years conference with the mentality that “this is not for me“. I never imagined I would have found friendships at a conference that wasn’t even my niche.
I was looking forward to hanging out with Linda, Rose a la Mode, since FINCON11 ended. Her and I have so much in common. She is one of those girls that you immediately LOVE and I felt like I had known her my whole life.
This year was no different. We picked up right where we left off.
I was sad to learn that one of the other girls I met last year {and loved} wasn’t going to be at FINCON this year. Linda and I were both pretty bummed about that.
Luckily, I was very excited to meet new friends…including Teresa.
Teresa’s husband, PT, is the one who puts on the conference. Jeff and PT have been friends for quite some time and I have been dying to meet Teresa!
They are both two of the most genuine people you will ever meet. And I do mean EVER. Not to mention that PT did an AMAZING job with the conference. I can not even begin to think about how involved it would be to run a conference and how much work it would take.
He was a true rockstar!
I think the most memorable text message from the entire weekend came from Teresa. They had a “90’s themed” dance party on Saturday night for all the conference attendee’s. You should have seen the dance floor at this party.
The text from Teresa read this:
“Soooooo, financial bloggers. Who knew?”
BAHAHA! Such a true statement.
Linda’s husband Bob {pictured above – far right} runs the site Christian PF. One of my favorite things about Linda and Bob? Their love for Jesus. They are the type of people who live their lives showing others what it means to be a follower. Not just in his website or in conversations, but also in their actions.
When we all went to dinner, Bob made sure that we prayed before we ate. I really thought that was neat. Not because I think it’s abnormal, but because Jeff and I are usually not bold enough to ask the table to pray before we eat. I love Bob’s boldness and we didn’t eat one meal together without praying first.
I also got to meet up with two mommy bloggers that are dear to my heart. Many of you know Jenn from Munchkinland Designs. Her and I roomed together at Blissdom last year and I just adore her. She actually lives about 45 minutes from Denver so we had been looking forward to meeting up as soon as I learned FINON was in Denver.
And Lindsey from Love 2 the Moon and Back just “happen” to be vacationing in Denver during FINCON. How fun is that? I met Lindsey when she started doing Stop & Smell the Roses and I was super excited to meet her in person!
We had a wonderful lunch together and I introduced them to Linda {and I think they would agree with me that she’s fab}. I am pretty sure that we could have stayed at the restaurant until dinner time. Ha!
My husband was a speaker this year and I was so super proud of him. His presentation title was “How to Use Video to Rock Your Brand“. He had a packed room and did a GREAT job!
FINCON wasn’t all about finance…no no no. These five men below decided that they were going to have a pull-up contest. They had to do strict pull-up’s {which means no kipping} per Ramit’s request.
Jesse Mecham took the trophy with 24. I think Jeff could have pulled off the win if kipping was involved. Just sayin’. Ahem.
We finished out the weekend with a little filming. It wouldn’t have been true Jeff Rose fashion without filming videos.
You know me…I’m the camera man, makeup artist, producer, editor, and more. We had a small audience while we filmed this video and a few people got a peek at how Jeff and I work together.
A FINCON recap video coming soon!
There were so many MORE wonderful people that I met this year….too many to name, but you will see them in the video!
I’m already patiently waiting for them to announce the dates and destination for FINCON13 so that I can be reunited with these wonderful ladies!
