Ok, friends…it’s going on 2 years now since I really went all out on a birthday party for my kids. Mainly because when you have three boys…that equals three parties every year that all have to be some sort of boy theme. And you know what?
I got burnt out. Quick.
I think the last party I threw with effort? Was the Blue Ombre Birthday Party for Parker which ended in him telling me his favorite color was actually red. #awesome
I used to love decorating for parties and really getting into a theme…but along came child #3, also known as “the crazy one”, and my whole life changed. Suddenly my desire to throw parties vanished and what little energy I had left after taming the wild one was spent RESTING. Ha!
Like moms know what rest feels like. Pssst.
But I always love and admire when my friends throw kick-butt parties. It’s like I get to enjoy all the adorable decor without having to lift a finger.
Bentley’s best friend had a “Fishing” party recently and I had to share it because…
1. It was simple and cute. Two things that I consider a must for a party.
And…
2. I may or may not have put a worm on a hook. By myself. For the first time ever. And I didn’t even cry.
I know y’all, I’m taking this boy mom thing to whole new levels.
I was quite disgusted for a good majority of the worm hooking, BUT… I’m so proud of myself for showing these boys that even a sassy mama like me knows how to get her hands dirty. Literally.
Ewwwww.
The truth of that story is: My husband was not there. I had no choice.
It was either I hook the worm. Or watch my kids be the only ones not fishing. LOL!
Pretty sure I’ll never do that again. Unless I go to another fishing party sans the husband.
She had the cutest little gummy worm tackle boxes for favors. Now those are the kind of worms that I can deal with.
These two are the best of buds. Bents had a great time celebrating Dylan’s birthday fishing style. In fact, he asked me if we could have his birthday party at our pond so all his friends could fish.
I said no of course. I told him that unfortunately there’s a limit to how many people can fish on our pond at one time. He doesn’t need to know that’s an exaggeration of the truth. So, shhhhh.
Plus, our pond will be frozen over in January.
If you’re looking for a unique boy themed party idea… pin this fishing one for later! It was definitely a hit!

Oh, my lands! Cutest party EV-AH!! My favorite part, though, are the shin-high, Under Armour socks on the little man, with the long shorts, and WHERE ARE HIS KNEES?! Because sometimes short little legs have such a problem with fashion… we wear socks and shorts like that at our house!! Seriously… Isn’t it time y’all moved to become my neighbor? Because I still need you to redecorate my house… and we have a 3rd birthday that’ll need an awesome party in March. You have time to plan!!

Kudos to you for stepping up! I don’t know if I could have hooked the worm. I feel like you should do something extra girly to compensate, lol!
That theme is adorable and I love the little tackle boxes.

Um that is so totally adorable. Can’t wait to throw my twins a birthday party. Can you imagine coming up with a theme for boy/girl? Better yet I probably should just take them each for a special day and let someone else throw the party. So much work but so worth it!

I love it! So adorable! I have two little outdoorsy boys who would love this for their birthday parties. However, they are November and February babies… Maybe I should just start celebrating heir half birthdays!

Wow! he must have had so much fun. All the pictures look so beautiful it gets me thinking how much time you took to organise such a perfect party. And yes, I just pinned this birthday theme, my baby will be turning 8 in May. And I am super excited…everyone is. The mom has even started organising stuff, but I think this will give us good direction…
