Sometimes I find myself constantly picking up and cleaning.
Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning.
Between the boys and the dog {and my husband}…my house is a constant battle. I have things like socks, underwear, toy cars, choo-choo trains, crayons and even cracker crumbs taking over my floors on most days.
And don’t even get me started on what you may find under the couch.
Then there are the days when they track mud through the house or the dog pukes up her breakfast or my youngest spills his orange juice on the carpet. Those are typically the days I want to crawl in a deep dark hole and never emerge.
Why?
Because I hate cleaning stains out of carpets. Like triple hate.
So today, as part of Bissel’s campaign called “Hello Life, Goodbye Stains“, I am sharing what I would say “hello” to if I could say goodbye to cleaning dog puke, orange juice and mud out of my carpet.
Hands down I would spend more time with my kids just lounging. I definitely don’t do that enough.
The second I see something that needs cleaned…I start cleaning.
Don’t blame me. Blame my dad and his family DNA. They are all type A’s.
I would play tonka trucks. And read more books.
I’d probably even pretend to be a superhero every now and then.
I might even participate in the mini basketball games that my kids create out of buckets and legos.
All I know is that I would definitely be more present when they ask me to “Come play, mom!”
Bissell has a contest going on right now for a chance to win a $250 grocery store card {free groceries…woot woot!}.
You can upload your own photo and share a caption about what you would say “hello” to for a chance to win. Just go HERE.
But I’m curious, tell me in the comments, what would you say “hello” to if you could say “goodbye” to cleaning crap out of your carpets???

Hello, fresh smelling house! Seriously, that alone would be a huge perk! When we moved in a month ago we found out the previous owners of our home let their dog and kid pee all over the place. GROSS. We are still working on removing the odors, stains, and what looks suspiciously like a MASSIVE spider being killed via smashing into the carpet.
I want my nose to not be assaulted anymore.

I would say hello to vegging out on the couch & catching up on muh shows via DVR!!

I totally agree with your answer Mandy. Ugh…to getting the type A gene. Sometimes I love it…sometimes I hate it. 🙂 I would also say hello to remembering to actually drink my coffee before it gets too cold (because I am usually cleaning up something!)…that would be nice.

Ha, this made me giggle. My husband just started making me iced lattes because I never finished the hot coffee he would pour me up.

Couldn’t agree more. My husband is often reminding me to just stop and relax for a bit, but I’m the same way. If I see something that needs to be cleaned, picked up or put away, I’m on it right away. We are currently potty training and its driving me mad to not only be stuck in the house, but to let everything go and just focus on training. I lasted 5 days before I finally broke down earlier and had to clean. I only have 1 so far so I’m grateful that we do spend tons of time together reading mountains of books, working on art projects together or having pretend picnics with stuffed animals. Trying my best to cherish those moments!

I am with you… I always find myself saying “just wait till I finish cleaning…” to my kids. Then I have a heap of mom guilt in the evenings when they are in bed and I realized I cleaned dishes instead of spending time with them. Dishes can wait, but my boys will only be little once. Such a hard concept to remember sometimes…

I would say hello to other hobbies and getting ready for our baby due in December!

I can definitely relate to this right now. Two in diapers including a toddler who likes to take out her straws from her juice boxes and shake the juice up and down to watch it spill out. And throw in three dogs and a husband. I could definitely be spending more time with my babies if I didn’t have to clean all day.
