Do you ever have that itch to brighten things up a bit? Whether it be your outfits, recipes or your home decor…I am constantly wanting to add “PIZAZZ” to my life.
Picture me giving you my jazz hands RIGHT NOW. Wooooo pizazzzzz!
As you know I work from home and I shared my work-from-home office space with you earlier this year. One of the best parts of working from home {besides the yoga pant work attire} is being able to decorate my work space EXACTLY how I want it.
I spent 5 years in a corporate office setting with drab white walls. Disgusting carpet. And maintenance men who gave me the side eye every time they noticed a new picture hung on the wall.
*Cue* angels singing when I began my home office makeover.
Holy cow, someone wasn’t going to write me up for personalizing my space?! Or for asking to rearrange my office furniture?!
It was heavenly.
When we first moved in to our home over 3 years ago, the office space was less than inspiring.
It was a lot like my corporate office job. Drab and boring.
With the help of my dad and his handy man skills our office transformation has turned out to be a place where I am surrounded by things that mean something to me.
Wall art that inspires. Color that feeds energy. And organization that makes my heart skip a beat.
To say that I am inspired when I work in this office would be pretty darn accurate.
It wasn’t always this vibrant though. Just in the last few weeks I decided that the “pop” of orange needed to be more prominent.
If you have ever used orange as your accent color than you know that it can be hard to work with. But if you do it right, I think it truly can add so much brightness to a space.
I am sure you are not shocked that I have another gallery wall. Ahem.
A few things that I added to give this space some vibrancy:
- The OFFICE wall art sign {handmade}
- Orange zebra print lamp
- Orange and yellow striped flower vase
- Orange hanging file basket
- Painted orange mat for wall frame
- My grandma’s 1970’s chair & Pier 1 throw pillows
Doesn’t it seem so much more inviting? I am in love with the new pizazz it has.
And yes, if you come over and visit, I’ll give you my jazz hands in person. Mark my words.
What inspired me to take my orange accents to the next level?
Crystal Light and their “Explore the New Flavors” campaign had me excited about adding some vibrancy to my office space. Or pizazz as I like to call it.
Mango Passionfruit is my new favorite flavor! How appropriate that it’s also orange.

I hate looking out my window to grey, dark & gloomy days. So, It makes me hop on Pinterest for a new project to brighten up the inside of my house. It makes me hop in the car to Marshalls or Home Goods for that yellow picture frame or bright purple vase. It makes me want to add pizazz to life!
I’m with you – color jazzes any room up! I like to keep wall color fairly neutral and then add fabulous pops of color with pictures and accent pieces.

Seeing clutter encourages me to add some pizazz to the house! I always want to organize anything that is messy or brighten anything that is dull. I love you office transformation… WOW! I would love to work in there, because I DO know how dull a corporate atmosphere is!

I get inspired sort of “by default.” I’ll buy and buy and buy things, and one day, my pile of things gets SO out of control that I decide to tackle it, and decorate! And I’m always SO happy with the results that I always ask myself WHY it took me so long to do it in the first place!
You know what…that happens to me too! Right now my third son’s closet is full of unused decor. LOL!

Spring always gives me the itch to brighten up the home. Every year I go around the whole house making lists of ways to add color into our dark home. Last year it was painting the laundry room a light blue with lime green accents. This year it will be redoing the master closet by painting a fun color, reorganizing, and adding fun colorful lighting.
I get inspiration from décor magazines and Pinterest. I like to buy new décor items for my house a few times a year

Our new baby inspires me. My husband and I had so much fun putting together her nursery. He painted a mural and I made several pieces of wall art and repurposed a few items using a fresh coat of paint. It turned out adorable!
I have an aunt who is great at decorating. She is my inspiration!
Mandy I love this post! My family and I just moved back to our house from a 10 month stay in Arizona. We were renting out there an everything was white and tab. As soon as we got home I new I needed to add some more color and brighten out home up! I actually got a lot of inspiration from your link up parties and previous post you have done! Now my entry and kitchen feel so much brighter and bigger and I enjoy being in there so much more! It’s amazing what a little color and change can do for your overall mood!!
