You know how many times I have got to do a professional photo shoot that didn’t involve me bribing young children with chocolate and Toys R Us trips? Never.
Ok, ONCE. For my senior pictures in high school. But not since.
Jeff will occasionally help me snap a few pics for a fashion post, but y’all…we are far from professionals. I wish you could be a fly on the wall when we do our amateur photo shoots. I’m all like..
“Should I look at my feet?”
“Do I smile?”
“My serious face reads angry, doesn’t it?”
“I feel completely awkward putting my hand on my hip for the 200th time.”
Then it usually ends in an argument because Jeff just wants me to hurry up and pose and when I finally do…99.9% of the shots he gets are blurry. #startover
A very close friend of mine, Lauren, has an adorable little boutique here in my hometown. I shop there ALLLLLL the time. Seriously, like at least once a week.
It’s the most gorgeously decorated place ever {and you know I’m a sucker for good decor} and she always has very “eccentric” styles.
Hence, why her shop is named Eccentrics Boutique.
One thing that I love about Lauren and her store? She genuinely LOVES fashion. She’s a diva y’all. My husband jokes that she must sleep in leopard heels.
I think he’s right.
From big hair, to bright lips, to a perfect wardrobe…she inspires me to look my best. Even if I’m just working from the house.
We decided to do a little House of Rose/Eccentrics photo shoot this past week in the streets of my home town.
How adorable is Lauren holding the reflector? Store owner, fashion diva… all the way to photographer assistant. Ha!
I loved the idea of…
a.) Picking out clothes from her store and getting dressed up and
b.) taking photos downtown Carterville…the place I grew up and have loved ever since.
Plus, how cool that the Memorial Day flags were lining the streets! I love how the amazing photographer, Britni, captured that! Especially since the military has a huge place in my heart.
I can see the Pizza place that I grew up eating at in the background behind me.
The history behind these images… and how much I adore this town… GAH! I can’t even.
Check out my interview over on the Eccentrics blog!

These turned out great! I think I like the ones of you laughing the best.
Could that boutique be any cuter? I need a walk in closet decorated exactly like that!

SO made me miss the small town I grew up in. Main Street’s are the best, including the fun, original boutiques that you can find on them. Whenever I end up in a small town that is my goal, find the original clothing stores. I always walk away with a gem. PS, that blue shirt you are wearing, TOTAL GEM! LOVE!

This definitely reminds me of the main street of my town. I would not have guessed that you were from a town that small! Love the photos and the boutique looks super cute! 🙂
