*That’s SJ’s serious face above. He WILL give you the side eye. Beware.
It feels like forever since I have sat down and just posted about life lately. We’ve been busy little bees this summer and I can not believe that school starts back up in 2 weeks.
WHERE HAS THE SUMMER GONE?
For the last few days it’s been in the high 70’s here. I can’t remember the last time it wasn’t a million degrees at the end of July.
It’s almost too cold to even get in the pool. Well, for me. Not the kids. They could care less and would probably swim during the winter if I would let them.
As you can see, some of us are even dressing for winter. Long sleeved shirt and monkey slippers? Check.
The hubs is in full on book marketing mode. His book will hit stores on September 9th. Yes, that is less than 5 weeks from now.
I am so excited for it to finally be done! He has worked his butt off for the last 4 years on this book and I can’t wait for it to be out there for the world to see read.
And I may or may not be excited that it will free up some of my time. 🙂
We filmed his book trailer this passed Wednesday {for the second time}…and I’m hoping to share that soon. The first time we filmed it we felt like the story wasn’t complete and it didn’t do a good enough job of explaining his heart. So, we filmed again.
I am definitely no iMovie professional, but we filmed with 2 cameras rolling and I love the look of having the front view and the side view. I think I might want to be a movie editor in my next life.
Not.
The trailer will hopefully help you get a better understanding of the book and the “why” behind his desire to help people become financially free.
Poppy and Gigi bought P a mini trampoline for his 6th birthday present and it’s been a huge huge huge hit. I was a little iffy about the whole thing, but I must say…it’s been a great way for them to burn off some energy. And no one has broken a bone yet. {YET!}
Plus, with the weather being so cool it’s been nice to have something for them to do since the pool is cold.
My least favorite summer activity? Putting away laundry.
It seems like in the summer my kids dirty about 800 more outfits in a day than in the winter. It’s like if they get one drop of water or peanut butter or milk on their shirt then it’s off with the dirty shirt and on with a brand new clean one.
Lord help me.
In fact, the other day…I counted how many times Bents changed his clothes. He had on 11 {OH YES ELEVEN} different shirts before 10:00 am.
WHAT? Does anyone else have this issue with their children?
I don’t understand why every time I turn around…someone is changing their clothes. Gah.
I guess, at this point, I should just be thankful that they want to wear clothes. Six months ago that wasn’t the case.
My laundry pile grows by the second.
And so does my boo-boo pile.
First, P burned his tummy on the oven, then SJ nearly needed stitches on his chin and then back to P getting a black eye {from Bents I might add}.
How they haven’t got hurt on the trampoline is beyond me.
{I love that they are all touching in this picture – so sweet}
There are days when I wonder, “How will I make it through the teenage years?”
And that’s if I get through the toddler years.
<<sigh>>
After we finished the basement {and yes I will post about that soon I swear} I took a little DIY break. But lately I have been getting back in to my love for home projects.
With spray paint of course. My favorite.
I went on a hunt in my basement closet and found stuff that I wasn’t using {like these yellow glass vases from IKEA} and started spraying.
I’m sure you are not surprised that I went mint green.
I also re-painted the office with a color called Sea Foam by Benjamin Moore. It basically looks like a light mint green. I’m in love with how it turned out!
Oh, one last thing….yesterday my Mac Desktop crashed on me mid-movie editing. I spent the entire day on the phone with Apple Care trying to get it back up and running and I haven’t had any luck yet.
They think my hard drive might be done-zo. I may have cried on the phone with the Apple rep on more than one occasion.
I’m hoping that once I reinstall the operating system…it will solve the problem. Fingers crossed.
Because if the hard drive is ruined…I will be that idiot person who didn’t back up any of her files. Including the 9 million pictures of my kids for the last year.
What about you, how has your summer been going? Do your kids start back to school soon?
