OUR BUYER’S COULD NOT GET FINANCING!!!
And NO, I am not joking you.
And YES, it took them 11 days to tell us.
And YES, this is the SECOND time this has happened to us in 3 weeks.
Really, TWO different buyers…both put offers on our house and BOTH buyers couldn’t get approved for a loan?
I really don’t want to be rude, but I want to scream from the top of my lungs…and if I did…it would be something like this…
STOP LOOKING AT HOUSE’S YOU CAN’T AFFORD PEOPLE!!!!!!!
I mean seriously, get pre-approved or something!
GEEZUS!
So now we are back to square ONE! I hate to even say that out loud.
I got so excited. I was ready to build. This was the perfect deal since we were going to get to live in our old house until our new house was done.
I’m not knocking people who can’t get a loan…but I am knocking people who don’t know what they can and can not afford. Don’t you think you should have that figured out before you go offering to buy some-one’s house?
I’m slightly annoyed. And slightly is an understatement.
I guess the good news is….people like our house. People want to buy it. People are trying to buy it. Just not people who are smart enough to know how much they can afford!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

This is definitely the DOWN side of not having a Realtor! Realtors don’t work with buyers until they’re pre-approved, typically! Argh! Third time is a charm? Good Luck!

BOO!! That is SO annoying!! I don’t understand that either honey. I thought people had to be preapproved to even put in an offer? Shows how much I know! I will keep my fingers crossed that a new, better, SOLID offer comes in very soon. PS…you will have an e-mail from me too ๐

So sorry for this. I think lots of people are having problems getting approved for loans unfortunately. I heard that from a Real Estate person . . . And how are we supposed to get the housing market moving if people cannot get the $$$$$ to buy houses!! Ouch. It will sell though. You have a great house!! xoxo

Sorry that it has been so hard, there are so many people out there that think they are qualified (and even have a lender tell them they are) and it turns out they are not!
I would agree with the first poster- this is a downside of not having a Realtor, but it can still be done without one (I am a realtor, so I can tell you that it is totally do-able without!) but I would suggest that the next time someone wants to put an offer on your house, make them submit a Pre-APPROVAL (not pre-qual, that can cause the same issue here) letter. That way you know that their loan has been locked in- I always have my clients do that- just stronger in the long run!
Good luck sweetie, it will happen- afterall, summer is almost here and that is when people really start to look!

Ugh I am mad for you!!! What is wrong with people??? I thought that was king of the first thing you did before you started looking for houses is figuring out how much house you could afford! Right?? How annoying! I’m sure you are fed up…I know I would be. Sorry about the bad news! I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the right (smart) buyers come along soon ๐

You guys should demand that all potential lookers/buyers be pre-approved. I know we can do that in Texas and we can put it in our contracts so the Realtor does not show the house to un-pre-approved people, or whatever you call those guys. I wish you all the best as you try to get this house sold! Hang in there!

That is totally terrible that they thought they were pre-approved! Unfortunately, they’re probably just as sad that they cannot get your beautiful home because of the circumstances now! However, they shouldn’t have strung you guys out over that long of a period of time. Maybe they were taking that time to work with different lenders trying to find a way to work it?! They still should have let you know. My family has been in the “biz” for a long time and although things are really slow for some right now, things ARE selling! At least having a Realtor now will take the burden off of you guys partially! It will sell! It will! :0)

I’m glad people are at least trying! That’s good news! The market is so bad, it’s a shame people can’t get the financing they need. Houses need to be bought/sold – that’s the only way to get the economy flowing again! Maybe the 3rd time will be the charm ๐ Fingers crossed for you!

I’m SOO sorry! I know this whole process has been stressful. First they want to buy it, then you think you have to be out in less than a month and then they say, no stay while you build and now, no loan! UGH!! Frustration. I’ll be praying that someone else comes and snatches it up though ๐
