Heeyo!

This is the hubbies again hijacking the wife’s blog with a birthday surprise.

This amazing woman turns 36 today and she’s even more HAWT today than when we first started dating. <insert sizzling noise>

There’s no doubt that I married up! 🙂

In the past I’ve surprised here with a few fun things on the blog.

There was the custom rap song for Mothers’s Day. Or the personalized ukulele tribute.

Instead of being funny this year, I opted do something more sweet.

Initially, I had this video put together to highlight some of our best memories together as a family:

I loved seeing a collection of some of our best memories, but I felt I needed to something more.

The glue that keeps our family together.

She deserves something more special. But what to do?

And then it hit me……. BAM!!!!

She loves pictures of her kids. Why not doing a fun photo shoot with them?

To really appreciate how this went down, you have to understand the details.

I knew Mandy was going to dinner with some girlfriends to celebrate her birthday at 6:30.

I had taken 3 of our kids to lunch earlier in the day and while we were out we made a secret stop to Hobby Lobby to pick up the essentials.

Mandy’s friends were about 10 minutes late picking up her up – thanks ladies!

Ahem….

So I had about a 15 minute window of opportunity to set up some lights, get the signs out of my car, and try to figure out how to work Mandy’s Canon 70D camera that requires doctorate degree in photography to know how to use.

Our daughter is already battling a cold so she was not her usual chipper self so close to bed time AND she needed a bath before going to bed.

Ohhh…did I mention that our dog also puked on the office rug that needed to be cleaned up to?

To say that I was slightly stressed…..

Yup, pretty much everything was against me.

There were definitely forces against me trying to derail me from getting this shoot done, but nothing was going to stop me!

This woman deserves it! 🙂

What I really loved the most was how willing the kids were excited to do this for their mom.

Well, maybe not so much Nella. She was way too interested on what was on the TV or running out of the picture because she thought it was a game.

Silly two year olds. 🙂

It took me a while to get the hang of her camera.  Unfortunately, many of them came out too blurry and I’m such a noob when it comes to her camera I couldn’t figure out how to adjust it.

Thank goodness I knew she had Lightroom on our computer so I could do some basic editing.

Overall, I think they came out alright and I was excited to offer some fun memories for Mandy’s birthday.

There’s no question that my favorite picture of the night was the one below.

When We Have Each Other, We Have Everything.

That sign embodies who we are as a family.

It’s often chaotic in our household <SHOCKER!!> but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

It’s her birthday today, but everyday is a gift for me and our kids for what she provides for us.

Gosh, I love this woman!!!  🙂
