Having my mother-in-law here from Las Vegas has been absolutely AMAZING! Those of you who know me {closely} may think that I am “just saying that” to sound nice.
I assure you, whatever feelings I “use” to have towards the MIL visiting…are gone. Vanished. Va-moose!
I mean it.
I am wondering how I can convince her to move to Illinois?
Having her here is like having a full time nanny. She is sooooo good with the boys and she really knows how to keep them under control. Very impressed!
She’s also pretty innovative when it comes to entertaining them. I woke up this morning to find that she was entertaining SJ outside on the front walkway.
Look closely in case you missed it and you will find one grandma doing jumping jacks and one baby boy sitting in his stroller laughing his booty off.
{She has no idea I snapped this picture – hehe!}
I think I am going to cry when she goes home on Friday.

Your family is extremely lucky to have such a loving and fun grandma! Enjoy this last week with her. And I LOVE my MIL.

Ha! That is hysterical. MIL’s are great to help entertain the kids, that is for sure! Hope you are able to get a few things done around the house with her on town.

I love what you said in this post! I have always loved my MIL, but before I became a mom I would get annoyed at the littlest things she did when she visited. Mainly messing things up in MY kitchen, not cleaning them to my standards, etc.
But then my little boy came along and I kind of let it all go. She came to help us out when he was 2 weeks old and then again when he was 3 mos – the week I had to return to work. She even said to me that she thought something changed and she felt so relaxed at our house now. You know, if she wants to come and love on my son while cooking us a delicious dinner AND cleaning it all up – go for it, MIL! How controlling was I to discount the nice things she was doing for us?
I’m so happy for you (and jealous too!) that your MIL is there for a long visit. Can she come here next? 🙂
