I remember walking into the giant cafeteria style room at Blissdom last year for lunch. There were five bazillion people. Tables and people galore.
I think I was the last to stroll in.
I was soooo late in fact, that they only had gluten-free lunches left for grabs. This was before I had ever even attempted anything gluten-free. Oh man…let’s just say I didn’t eat lunch that day. Gluten-free bread is a shocker to the taste buds.
And honestly, I wasn’t super concerned about what I was eating because I was too busy browsing the crowd for someone I was supposed to be meeting there.
Her name is Becka.
Y’all may know her as Kiki La’ Rue on the inter-webs.
I had ordered a top from her shop the week prior. And instead of shipping it to me…she personally called me and asked me if I wanted her to just bring it to Blissdom since we were both going to be there. It would be quicker than shipping it.
When she initially called me to ask me that…. two things came to mind:
1. I was thinking “Now THAT is amazing customer service.” and
2. Becka and I could instantly be best friends based on the 15 minute phone call we had.
She was one of those people that made me feel special even though I was the one feeling honored to be on the phone with her. I mean the owner of Kiki La’ Rue called ME. What?!?!
Fast forward a few days later to that cafeteria in Dallas, Texas.
I stood across the room, as I scanned the crowd and we immediately saw each other. She was on the complete opposite side as me so I walked over to her table.
*I promise this isn’t a love story and we aren’t about to run and embrace each other like love at first site. But it was close. Ha!
We exchanged a giant Texas size hug and lots of sweet words between the two of us. She handed me my package with my rosette top {and a surprise pair of free earrings} and it was like we had been friends my whole life.
You know when you come across those kind of people, right? The ones that make you scratch your head and go, “Did I know you in a previous life?”
Becka is one of those people to me.
I’m even MORE excited because as you read this I will be on my way to meet up with her! She lives in Dallas, but has family about an hour from me and she is in town for Thanksgiving! We are meeting up for some Black Friday shopping!
I’d probably rather just stay home and shop her site, but I thought….a chance to hang out with her in person I will not pass up. Ha!
And who am I kidding? I’ll still be shopping Kiki La’ Rue Black Friday sale later today when I’m back home!

Hmm it’s so hard to choose a favorite piece because they’re all gorgeous, But I would have to say the Essential tops are my favorite and I love the Piko tops as well.
Morgan Maxi is the one piece that I own because it was a gift from a friend. (Congrats on losing 50 pounds gift. :)) I am in love. My KiKi La Rue wish list is a mile long however….
My favorite KLR piece would be the on the prowl leggings that I just bought. I got them today and they are AHHHMAZINGGGG. definitely going to purchase more ASAP. <3

I love KLR. So many cure items, I wish I could buy everything. I just recently bought an Avery sweater and black leggings. I have been trying to snatch a KLR essential shirt but everytime payday comes they aren’t in stick. I so want to get the short sleeve army green.

Its so hard to chose just one KLR item because since I found Becka’s store about six months ago, I have placed about ten orders, and I have never been unhappy with any of the items I received. I love them all..my ultimate fave are the just gotta have it maxis, I have three!! And I have two of the just gotta have it short dress. So I’d say those are my all time fave KLR items. And I have to admit that I stalk KLR on instagram and I just love the type of person that Becka seems to be. You are so lucky you got to met her in person. 🙂
