It has taken us FOREVER to get our tree up.
I just haven’t had the motivation since I know I am going to be boxing up this house and moving soon. The tree seems like just another thing I am going to have to pack.
But, being the fact that we have a 2 year old…we have no choice but to put up the tree.
So we did. Finally. And you can see the excitement on P’s face as daddy is trying to figure out the light situation.
Can you imagine if we didn’t have a tree to put his gifts under on Christmas morning? We would be the worst parents in the world. (I had to repeat this to myself 50 times before I made my husband get the tree down from the attic and put it up.)
However, we have STILL not decorated it. Still.
I just can’t get my butt in gear. I have the ornaments sitting next to it in a box…AND CLEARLY the tree is not going to decorate itself…but for some reason I have no desire to decorate it.
Pathetic.
I am probably going to be on Santa’s naughty list this year for taking so dang long. Not to mention my bad attitude I’ve been sporting lately. I really need some help getting in the Christmas spirit. I need intervention.

I think you have an excuse 🙂 I’m due in 7 weeks, and I’m exactly the same. No mood for presents, wrapping, decorating…usually I’m all over it. Oh well.
On a side note, your new house looks fantastic and seems to be coming together really well. Makes me want to build!

Don’t worry honey…I am not sporting my normal Chistmas spirit because I feel so overwhelemd with everything going on (you know…like having a baby in 11 days!!!) But I think we have a pretty good excuse this year. Actually, you have several. But at least you got the tree up and will make P’s day come Christmas morning. In case I don’t talk to you guys, I hope you have a Merry Christmas!!!

Girlfriend, I HEAR you! I don’t know what the deal is this year. I literally JUST got into the Christmas spirit. It just came too quickly this year. We aren’t even doing cards…for the first time ever! 🙁

It is hard to get into some of the Christmas stuff when we’re doing it because we feel like we have to. How about little the P-man decorate it? The lights are always the hardest part, so you’ve got that done. You could let him throw popcorn on it or tinsel or ribbon and he would probably love it just as much – or even more – than if you decorated it with the ornaments. You could also buy several boxes of candy canes and let him hang them on there. Just a thought! You certainly have a lot going on, so don’t feel bad about it.

I agree with Wendy… let P-man do the decorating. Perhaps he’d love to be in charge of that task… Plus it will make for great photo ops for you as you relax and watch him go. I’m sure you’ll have more holiday spirit next year. I think we’re all entitled to ‘the holiday blahs’ from time to time.
