….ROBBED!!
No, really.
I’m not joking.
Someone stole from us.
We accidentally left our garage open last night (which we have done numerous times in the past). We live in a VERY safe neighborhood.
Or so we thought.
Someone decided that they were going to get into J’s Tahoe that was parked in our garage and steal our GPS, GPS stand, Oakley sunglasses, cologne, and some money.
Weird thing is….they didn’t touch my car. My Mercedes that had THE KEYS IN IT!!! I actually would have preferred them taking my car altogether than what they took out of J’s car. haha! You know my car…it’s super reliable. ahem. They probably wouldn’t have gotten far.
We filed a police report that I’m sure will go no-where. But, we did learn that 2 other houses in our neigborhood got hit too. They only lost sunglasses and change.
The cops are pretty sure it’s a young kid since they didn’t take our neighbors EXPENSIVE golf clubs that were in the back of his car.
Either way, I feel EXTREMELY VIOLATED that someone would come in to our garage, while we were home, and steal from us. And even scarier that they could have just walked right in our house if they so pleased.
I guess I’ll have to sleep with one eye open from now on. Oh…and I’ll have to MAKE SURE THE GARAGE IS SHUT! Key factor.

So glad all is ok. I have gone to bed a few times with our door unlocked and hubby at the firehouse overnight. He isn’t too happy when he gets home.

This is so awful to hear! I’m so sorry this happened to you!
One time Matt and I came home from a trip to Louisiana and discovered that we had left our garage door open the whole time! It was almost a week! Nothing was gone…but someone could’ve easily come into our house. We don’t lock that door. We ALWAYS check it now before we leave for trips!

We did the same thing last year. We had gas cans stolen, one of which had oil in it (haha) and the hubby’s Trek Police Bike. He was pissed but then I told him to report it to our insurance company, he did and found about the replacement value of the bike was 1200, when he paid 250 for at a bike shop. So I guess all in all it turned out ok… but he still misses that police officer moutain bike.
I know its totally scared, I felt really violated too. Now every night before we head to bed we double check the door.
