Couples must make going on dates a priority in their marriage. So when you do go on a date, here’s how to make sure you’re 100% present – The Perfect Date Checklist!
Are you and your spouse going on a date this weekend? If you’re not… plan it!
More than making dating a priority, how can you make sure your date is beneficial and the best it can be?
We’ve got a checklist – because y’all know how much I love my lists!
- Make it a priority.
Mark it on the calendar and plan to do it each week. No matter if you’ve got time in the evenings, weekends or weekdays, there’s no rules to how or when to date your spouse, just make sure it happens.
- Make a decision.
Where to go and what to do… hint hint – men, women love when you make a plan and let them know in advance. Pick something new and fun that you haven’t done before, or grab a dinner at a place the both of you can enjoy.
- Dress to impress.
It’s not about impressing everyone else you see in public, but impressing your spouse. Mommas, skip the yoga pants and gentlemen, put some real effort into how you look. Lose the baseball hat, comb your hair… even if you’ve been married for years and years, it’s still important to dress up every now and again.
- Focus on staying connected.
Whether it’s opening the door for your wife, holding hands, etc. Be present. It’s easier to stay present by picking a location for the date where there’s less distractions. Yea, that means ditch the iphone, best friends, etc and focus on just each other.
Strike up the conversation with these reflection questions:
What was the most exciting thing that happened to you this week?
And what’s one thing that you would like to change about this week??

I really like the idea of a checklist for date night – I have a checklist for everything else in my life so this is perfect. Even though Miles and I are not married we have been together for 9 years, which happens to be the longest relationship I have ever been in, that includes my 2 previous marriages. I signed up for this because I admire the relationship you both have and I am really excited to get some great new ideas – I am always up for improving anything:)
