We weren’t sure if we would take a family vacation this summer since we knew we would be adding our daughter sometime mid-summer.

We wanted to wait and see how well she adjusted before we planned any big family things. But after being home just a short while and being super impressed with how well she was adjusting, we decided we would take all the kids on a mini-vacay.

We didn’t want too go far because hello… Nella had never rode in a car seat until July 3rd.

A long road trip was out of the question.

We decided on Franklin, TN which is just a short 3.5 hours from our front door. It’s a place we ADORE visiting and we knew we could find family friendly things to do there.

One of my goals while we were there was to get our family pictures taken. Obviously, all the ones around our house right now are outdated since they don’t include Nella.

After hundreds of suggestions of wonderful photographers in the Nashville area, we decided on one of the BEST… Julie Paisley Photography.

She literally travels the world with her business, photographing weddings in Italy and teaching workshops across the states. I was almost positive she wouldn’t be able to fit us in with such short notice, but I am so glad I was wrong!

She shoots film which is something that was new to us. We are used to digital photography, but were so excited for something different!

I am absolutely in love with our first official family photos as Half a Dozen Roses. We hope you love them just as much!
