…has officially been agreed upon.
We will call baby #2…
BENTLEY ROSE
J and I have had this name picked out for a VERY long time. Basically we have liked it since P was born and we liked it for either a boy or a girl. I had actually never known someone who had a child named Bentley. Then, when I started blogging I came across a blog that featured a little girl named Bentley! Since I have been following her blog…I have grown to feel that the name “Bentley” is more girly.
However, J still felt like it was more boy-ee.
If you know me very well, then you know that as soon as we found out P was a boy…we knew his name would be Parker. I’m a planner like that. You know. Type A and all.
So, the second we found out this baby was a boy I was shocked that I couldn’t agree to an official name.
But…after many nights of consideration and lots of coaxing from the hubs…I have agreed that BENTLEY will be the perfect name for our new little boy!
It’s funny…because I haven’t gotten great reaction so far. People will usually just look at me when I tell them the name and say “oh, ok”. haha! But, we feel like the name fits our family and we both really love it because it’s different.
When we were driving in L.A. we passed this….
….and that’s when I knew that it was a sign…Bentley was the name!
Now…please help us think of a unique middle name! I can’t come up with anything!
It can’t start with a “J” because I don’t want his initials to be B.J. And I am really hoping that people will not call him “Ben” for short. Not that I don’t like Ben…because I do…but Bentley is so unique and I like that it’s different.
Ok…so what do you think?

Love it! I think it’s great and all that matters is that you guys like it, who cares what others think! I am like you, I already have names picked out for boy and girl so as soon as we find out what it is, it will already have a name 🙂

I have been reading your blog for quite a while now and I really enjoy it. My grandson just turned 15 months and there’s something about Parker that reminds me of our Jaiden. A friend of my daughters just had a baby boy and named him Bentley, and that was the first time I had heard of that as a baby’s name, it is unique. For her shower, my daughter had a onesie made with his name on the back and a pic of a Bentley with “this is how I roll” on the front. It was adorable. Looking forward to hearing about your pregnant journey. Oh, and the “baby CG” video was the cutest thing ever! = )

I love the name Bentley! It is unique but not too unique, ya know what I mean?
Middle names are so hard – what about Bentley William or Bentley Adam?
I can’t wait to hear what you decide!

When you said Bentley, I thought what an awesome name for a little boy! I never have thought that it’s a girls name. Although now I can see how it would be both. Btw… after some messing around, I realized that I had “images” blocked on your page. No clue how that happened. So annoying but the problem is solved!

Wonderful name! I have to admit, I was one of “those” that gave a “oh, that’s nice…” reaction recently. My co-worker is naming her little girl Finley. That was my honest reaction, I couldn’t stop the words before they came out. So, on behalf of all of us that DO have that reaction every once in a while? Sorry! But, Bentley is totally cute! Middle names? Hmm… what about a more traditional name? Something like Matthew or Alexander? Or! How about Bentley Easton! Oh, I think that’s my fav. Bentley Easton Rose. BER… That’s not so bad? You’re lucky because lots of names go well with your last name! I also like the idea of your Maiden name as a middle name. B first names are hard because there are a lot of three letter words/acronymns to avoid. My husband’s initals are BMW, that’s not so bad I suppose. Ok, I must stop this naming banter… I get on a kick and just KEEP talking… :0)

I LOVE your name choice! How about maiden names on either side? My husband’s grandmother’s maiden name is Fuller, and I can’t wait to use that as a middle name.
My sister in law’s name is Amalie. She gave her son the middle name “McAm” because she is nicknamed “Am”. Mc means “son of” so his middle name means “son of Am”. You could do Bentley McMan Rose…..just a thought and something different too.

What about Bentley Ryan?
In my opinion Bentley Rose sounds like a girl’s name(although Bentley by itself could go for either gender. It doesn’t matter what I think, though. His name is whatever you want it to be.
I had a physical therapist whose last name was Lily. She had the hardest time picking out names because NOTHING sounded right to her for a boy or girl.

I can’t believe I ran into this! I have not heard the name Bentley for a baby anywhere untill the first season of “16 and Pregnant” on MTV. I am a 25 year old mother of a daughter named Alexys who is almost 4. Actually her birthday is 10 days after her baby brother is due. I loved the name as soon as I heard it and have been stuck on it ever since and thought that having a “Lexys” and a Bentley would be pretty sweet for kids names. The middle name thing well we are going with a “J” for the middle name don’t like the idea of him getting called BJ but “M”s have always been a girls thing and I like the idea of him using his daddys middle name so we are having a Bentley James! I do not want him to be called “Ben” either I just for some reason don’t like it and as you said Bentley is just a very unique name that I have heard no where till the show and now your blog. I love the “Bents” that is pretty sweet for a nickname!
