The P TURNS THREE this week.
THREE!
Not TWO.
THREE.
I have to repeat that to myself a few times because I can hardly believe he is going to be THREE
*And no. I don’t think just because he’s THREE he is going to wear pants. Just sayin’.
Anyway.
Turning THREE means 2 things:
1. Mommy is SUPER sad that her baby is growing up
2. Mommy has A LOT to do to make sure his birthday party is a success
Remember the ONE and TWO year birthday party’s…where you didn’t have to do anything but have cake and ice cream?
Yea.
Well, when your kid turns THREE…things start to get a little more complicated.
Three means that they are old enough to have friends. Like real friends. Not the same kind of friends they have at age 1 and 2. Those are the kind that mommy picks. You know. Mommy’s friends that have kids the same age. Don’t get me wrong, he is still friends with some of those kids, but now that they are THREE…they actually play together instead of drool on eachother.
I have to have GAMES and things for THREE olds to do at the party. No more just cake and ice cream. Although, cake and ice cream is still important. But, THREE year olds need entertained.
So I’m struggling.
P insisted that he wanted a race car party so that is the theme this year! Even though mommy was not really excited about the “Race Car” theme I was able to still pull off some “modern” looking race car stuff.
Aunnie found these ADORABLE invites on Minted.com! As soon as I saw these, my mood towards the race car party completely changed.
She also helped me find some really cute race car plates, napkins, and a cupcake set.
I ordered some race car helmets and orange cones thinking I would have them so some sort of “race”?? I am also trying to find a tire so I can have them do a bean bag toss game.
But the truth is. I need some serious HELP!
I rented this…
Mostly, just so that…if all my game ideas fail…they will have something to keep them entertained!
So. What’s your advice? What games did you play at your kids birthday party?
I am no pro at party planning. SO SOMEONE HELP FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!

We rented a jumpy house for my son’s 4th birthday and honestly it was all we needed. The kids had a blast and were so worn out. They are going to love what you rented – it will be such a hit! Hope you have a wonderful time!

Well, I actually used to rent out facilities that did everything – had teenagers who led the games, etc. I did all the favors, etc. but let them do the games! It is hard to believe that little doll is gonna be 3!! We have all watched him as he is growing up! xoxo

What about having a table or area with cars and a race track (rug, mat or painted on cardboard)?
