Our little P Man turned FOUR on July 22! I vowed that I was going to keep his party MUCH smaller this year.
As much as I loved having everyone over last year, SEVENTY-THREE people was just a little too much. P actually got so overwhelmed that he didn’t even participate in his own party.
That was my driving factor in keeping it small this year. I wanted to make sure that the birthday boy enjoyed himself! After all, the party was all for him. Not the guests.
Since this is our first summer with the new pool, this years party theme was an easy one.
SPLISH SPLASH POOL PARTY
I ordered all my printables HERE!A local bakery made the cake for me!
My friend Katie had taken some pictures of P swimming when she was here to hang one day! It was her idea to use some of the pictures as table decoration and I couldn’t have agreed more!
Party favor – beach balls! $1 each Can’t beat that!
Two of my college friends that I was on dance team with showed up with their little boys. Yes, we all have boys. Each of them have two and then my three. No dance team members in our future.
It was so nice to catch up with them!
I only let P invite 12 friends. We had to cut it off somewhere. Trust me, it was difficult for me, but I knew that I couldn’t handle 50 people in the pool!
P and all his friends! Sorry, Brooke, you were the only girl he invited. ๐
I had this sign from P’s 1st birthday (yes, we did a pool party then too – at a friends house).
I ordered it from PBK and am so glad I had the chance to use it a second time!
Bents was being “middle child” again and trying to destroy his brother’s day by taking down the cake. I seriously turned my back for 0.5 seconds and he had his hands in the icing.
Love this “who me?” face. Yea, you. I see you.
This is what we call the “Parkers”. Parker Diehl and Parker Rose. Yes, we refer to them by their full names when they are around each other. The two of them together…are TROUBLE.
They are the BEST of friends. Seriously obsessed with each other. Also, the same two that had a spitting contest once in the playroom. As in…taking a drink of their juice and then spitting it at each other…for a good solid 30 minutes. You can imagine there wasn’t a dry spot left in the playroom when I caught them. They are forbidden to be left alone. Merely for the fact that I do not enjoy cleaning up boy spit.
I was excited that P had such a great time this year! Less work for mommy when there are less people. Mommy like.

We had such a great time!! I showed Parker the pic of him & his bestie, he immediately said “I wanna go see him!” LOL! I finally got Griffin’s b-day invites ordered this morning! Maybe I can start planning his party now! Definitely going to try to keep it low key…Parker’s 1st birthday was CRAZY!! I don’t wanna go there again!

He is so darn cute! Honestly, you have the cutest family ever. And you STILL look like you’re on the college dance team! Glad it was a good party! XOXO

Love the theme. Did you make the banner over the table? I’m starting to plan E’s first birthday and wanted to do one of those. Any pointers for the creatively challenged?

What cute cupcakes and cake! I wish I had a local bakery that could make cakes as cute as those! There’s none of that where I live. I always have to do it myself and it never turns out how I want it to. Looks like you guys had fun though!

I love your take on this~ I first found her idea from hostess with the mostest and although I LOVE all the detail and work she put into her son’s party I don’t need quite as much…. did you just order the package or did you order the printables separately ….
