For those of you who don’t know, earlier this year I set out on a journey to get healthy and fit.
I have always believed in going to a gym over working out from home.
Lie #1.
I told myself that I couldn’t stay motivated on my own at home.
Except then, you know what happened? I couldn’t find the time to go to the gym. Because going to the gym took me at least an hour and half by the time I drove there, worked out, and drove home. I didn’t have an extra hour and a half a day.
Lie #2.
I told myself that I didn’t need to workout because there was just not time.
You know what happens when you begin to let your body and health go? You become depressed about how you look and feel, which affects how you parent, how you love your husband, how you approach your friends, how you treat your family…it affects every aspect of your life.
That’s when I decided I was going to try out an at-home workout program. I guess you can say, the rest is history.
You might look at my before pictures and think, geez, I’d be okay with those before pictures (I’ve heard that several times after posting these pictures).
My response to that is this: Everyone has their own comfort level of what makes them feel good about their body.
The picture of me on “day 1” might not look that off to YOU, but to me? I was at a place where I did not feel confident about being ME.
I am currently in my fourth round of the program and I am in awe at the way it is changing not just my body, but my confidence and energy level.
I love it (and saw such amazing results) that I decided to become a coach.
To me, becoming a coach was a perfect fit because I don’t have to “sell” a product, I just have to help people. And helping people is part of what makes me feel like I am making a difference.
I NEVER thought I would do something like this, ever, but it’s truly been the most rewarding feeling to help others change their life for the better.
I got this email today from one of my previous challengers and I had to share it here because it’s such a reflection of my hope and heart for these challenges and for YOU:
“I just want to thank you for all of your work and input during the challenge. I stepped out wanting to change my body and feel better about myself. But the first day God stepped in and showed me that my change needed to come from within. He needed to change the way I had been dealing with food. For the past year I have been an emotional eater. I knew that God wanted my attention, but I didn’t want to spend the time with Him and tell him what was in my heart. So food became my help in time of need. During the 21 days it was so much more than a get fit challenge. God was able to help me stop eating out of emotion, trust Him in the place where I felt weak, and to believe that I have been created for so much more.
Yesterday as I was reading the Bible I came across this scripture ‘Good leadership is a channel of water controlled by God; he directs it to whatever end he chooses.’ Proverbs 21:1
I really felt that You are that leader that God placed in my life during this time to help me get healthy not only in my outer body but in my relationship with Christ.”
I’m humbled that God used me to help her, but did you know that God uses YOU too. Not everyone gets an email with confirmation on how God is using you, but that doesn’t mean He isn’t using you.
God has used you in ways that you’ll never know.
I feel like right now, in this season of my life, God is using me in ways that I never dreamed and frankly, ways I never hoped for before…but love now.
Sometimes stepping out of your comfort zone and taking a risk is all it takes to lead you in a direction you never knew you were going.

WOW…you look amazing! I need to lose 10-15 lbs before my trip back to So CA at end of August. I eat really “clean” low carb, lots of lean protein, veggies but need to get exercise into the mix…I’m older so it’s even harder! I would love to know more about the program, but not a fan of the Shakeology drinks—tried them in the past and did not care for them. (I love 301Nutrition shakes which are pretty healthy). Can you join this program without buying the shakes? I got to get moving and shed the lbs! Thanks Mandy!

I just started working out again and getting back into it after completely self-imploding and, as you said, not feeling right about “me”. I love reading posts like this that help motivate! Thanks 🙂

Proud you, woman! I think this is such a great endeavor for you! I’ve been getting back into P90X3, which totally kicks my butt. 😉 Question for you: did you follow the 21DF food program exactly or more just watch what you ate?
Have a fantastic weekend! XO

This is so true! Three kids ago when trying to loose baby weight from baby two I fell in love with workout DVD’s it was the only way to get things done. Now with baby 5 three months old I’m getting back in shape the same way…and feeling so much better about myself now that I’m working towards a goal. I also appreciate your comment about how it’s about how you feel about your body, not what other people think. I wrote a post about that a month or so ago, as I am always frustrated when people tell me I should be happy with where I am. I just ran my first 5K race of the season on Sat and I’m all fired up. Looking forward to inspiration from your instagram! Would love a follow from you @prairieheels

I would like to join the fit challenge if possible. I had my first child in March and have been lightly working out but still have some extra pounds I can’t wait to shred. I hope to be on board. You’ve been such an inspiration and I thank you for being a coach, hopefully my coach. Thank you NayNicole06 – IG (Renee)

It’s so great that you’ve done so much. I’ve noticed that a lot of exercise, as physical as it is, is also mental. And for me having the right mindset lets me stay consistent with my workouts.

You are so inspirational. I too thought I needed to join a gym but then it got to be so hard to find the time. I love the 21 day fix. I get bored easily so doing a different routine everyday is great for me and I love that I can do it at home anytime I want (or can actually find time). Now I just really need to work in the eating part. I’m a single mom and i split custody 50/50. So when I don’t have my girls I find it difficult to make meals for one :-(. So I don’t always make the right choices. I’m getting there though, I am really enjoying the workouts. Thanks for sharing. ????. IG: amy_tasha
