Do you ever find yourself doing chores around the house or commuting to work? Of course you do!
Do you ever find yourself bored out of your mind while engaged in these activities? You know it’s true!
One great way to make the time pass by is to listen to some marriage podcasts. You’ll identify with some of these couples’ struggles, triumphs, and will learn quite a few marriage tips along the way.
Grab your earbuds, subscribe to the following podcasts, and get back to folding the laundry!
1. ONE Extraordinary Marriage Show
Tony and Alisa are one of the most transparent couples I’ve ever listened to. You may remember them from MM029 and how they inspired us to try the 7 Day Sex Challenge.
On their podcast they discuss sex, love, and commitment. They’ve had their struggles just like any couple out there, but they’ve come out of those struggles displaying an extraordinary amount of strength.
If you listen to their podcast you’ll learn a lot about sex if you need help in that area. There are a lot of episodes on that subject – their podcast image should be a clue! But you’ll also learn other ways to make your marriage extraordinary. You’ll learn how to see marriage through your spouse’s eyes, how to run the race – and stay in the race – of marriage, and how to cherish each other.

2. Better Conversations on Money and Marriage
Derek and Carrie Olsen are relatively new to the podcast scene (they started in 2014), but boy do they have some great episodes.
You’ll learn how to live on one income with your spouse, how to transition your finances when you first have a child, how to have an attitude of grace toward each other instead of an attitude of perfection, and so much more.
And while they were recording podcasts, they recently wrote a book, too: One Bed, One Bank Account. Derek and Carrie believe in working together when it comes to finances in marriage – and you’ll hear that theme repeated throughout their podcast.

3. The Stupendous Marriage Show
Stu and Lisa Gray have had their difficult times too, and after six years of marriage, they felt like they hit rock bottom. Consuming a lot of books on marriage, they began a journey to figure out what makes a great marriage.
You’ll learn a variety of marriage tips on their podcast, including how to deal with unmet expectations, how to find hope during difficult times, and how to forgive your spouse.

4. Anything & Everything
Jeff and Alyssa Bethke started podcasting in 2014 and began with their story. They discuss their breakup before they got back together, and practical tips shine through every story they share. They even discuss their first kiss!
If you’re a young Christian like they are, listen to this podcast – you’ll get an earful about faith, culture, and a little bit of randomness sprinkled right in.
Their ratings rock, by the way: 5 stars and 190 ratings!

5. Confessions of a Terrible Husband
I think this one wins the award for most unique title! Don’t you?
Nick Pavlidis does a great job serving up podcasts that help people take personal responsibility over improving their relationships. There are all kinds of great episodes on this podcast including the 10 habits of happy couples, why relationships feel so hard sometimes, and some tips on how to avoid power struggles over money.
He also interviews some experts on marriage and marriage-related topics which gives this podcast a very balanced perspective and a lot of great tips.

6. Smalley Institute
Michael Smalley brings it with this new podcast this year – and there are already over 29 episodes.
Michael has been a marriage and family expert and international speaker for over 20 years. His podcast is devoted to helping you resolve conflict, better communicate, and increase intimacy.
He just finished a great podcast series on animal personalities – which one are you? And he has a number of other series too – you’re going to want to catch them all!
Whether you want to learn about the true cost of divorce, what to do if your spouse is violent, or how to heal your marriage in a short period of time, there’s something here for you!

7. First Year Marriage Show
Marcus and Ashley Kusi recognize that the first year of marriage can be a very challenging year. Their marriage podcast is unique because it is dedicated to newlyweds and couples in their first few years of marriage.
There are all kinds of fantastic episodes on this podcast, including how to stand up for your spouse, how to communicate effectively, and how to survive foreclosure on a home (Derek and Carrie were interviewed in this one).

Honorable Mention: Marriage More Podcast
Jeff and Mandy Rose . . . oh, what a fantastic couple! Oh wait, that’s us!
Yep, we started podcasting last year about our marriage, and it has been an absolute blast. We’ve talked about our journey to adoption, lessons we’ve learned after a decade of marriage, and much more.
We also have some great love challenges you’ll want to check out – which one will you take on?
You can subscribe to our podcast on iTunes.
Well, there you have it. Listen, I know we listed a lot of podcasts on here, but I encourage you to give each and every one of them a shot. Who knows, you just might find a few favorites and make your marriage so much more!

Wow! I’m honored to be included! Yeah… definitely a unique title… made for a couple pretty awkward conversations with my wife’s side of the family when they asked what I’d been up to lately…
And endorsing my book to my mother-in-law was a whole new level of awkward! I ended up going with “sorry about pages 81-142,” which is where you can find my “confessions.”
🙂
Love what you guys are doing and your awesome show! Keep up the awesome work!
Mandy Rose says

Thanks so much, and keep up what your doing!!
Mandy Rose says
Of course Stu!

Thank you for sharing these! It’s not always a struggle, but when it is, it’s nice to hear other people talk about their problems too. I’m so glad our society has started talking about having a successful marriage as work and not just something that happens on it’s own.
