Ever since my neighbors house burned I have sworn off candles. Candles are not the reason HER house burnt, but just to be safe…I refuse to light a candle in this house. After seeing the distinct horror and aftermath of what a house fire can do, I am choosing to be as cautious as possible when it comes to that.
I am not saying burning candles is stupid because I think if you are super responsible and not forgetful {like me} then it’s perfectly safe. But I know myself. In fact, I have witnessed myself. I’ve left the house and left candles burning. I’ve gone to bed with candles burning.
See? I’m not candle responsible. Ahem.
That is why I cut myself off.
Thank goodness for Scentsy! My new found love. A smell good house with no fire hazard? Sign me up!
I’ve been using my Scentsy warmer for a few months now, but just recently I decided I needed another one. I happened to be at Wal-Mart and found this extremely fabulous warmer.
Anyone else notice the heart shadow on the wall?
The basement progress is like WHOA. The fact that I haven’t put ANY pictures up of the progress is unacceptable. UGH! I really can’t wait to show you the transformation! It’s going to be amaze balls when it’s finished. I may want to move to the basement.
I’ve also been updating our family pictures around the house with some more recent photos.
I rarely EVER do that. So rarely…that I still have pictures up of a family of three. Who’s a family of three? Definitely not us anymore. Geez!
It’s about time I get some new pictures up of the boys too. Bents is nearly three years old and I still had his newborn pictures displayed.
He would look at them and say “Baby Swoanee”. Haha!
No, dude. That would be you. Your mother is just a slacker when it comes to switching out prints.
So, what about you, are you a slacker when it comes to updating photos and picture frames around your house?
Are y’all ready for Christmas???? AHHHHHH! 4 days!

My mother-in-law just bought me one of those warmers from Walmart. We have been using it constantly & the house smells fabulous! LOVE it!!
And yes, I am a total slacker when it comes to switching out photos. I have a MILLION pictures that I’ve taken of the boys that are still on the computer & have never been printed. It’s ridiculous really!! Just got our flash drive from our photographer yesterday with our new family pictures. Looking forward to updating some of the prints in our home over the weekend!

I wish there was more of a pull-back so we coul see how you decorate with photos 🙂 I loved your entryway post!! Annnnd I’m picture obsessed so I update pictures IMMEDIATELY after receiving them from the photographer. My current main one is a 20×30 of my two kids together, and an 11×14 of each of them on each side. And they’re on the beach. And my daughter is wearing a petti romper. And my son is sporting a fauxhawk. Annnnd they’re barefoot. Yup, it is to die for 🙂 Speaking of dying, we are all still here…

I’m trying to do better about this. I switched out a few pictures last week. One of my goals in 2013 is to do a makeover in our house!

I am horrible at updating pictures. I still haven’t hung our wedding picture and we have been married for 3 years!

I have a hard time switching out pictures, ESPECIALLY when it comes to newborn pics. I definitely left a big newborn picture up next to this year’s family photos. It’s just too cute to take down (for now)!

YEA for new pictures around the house. I’m not that good about changing them out either but love when I do. Where do you order your canvas prints from? I’m wanting to do one of our Christmas photo.

I LOVE my Scentsy. I’ve got 4 throughout my house now….LOVE!!! Plus i’ve got about a billion scents…i think i need an intervention haha. I’m terrible about updating pictures i still have pictures from my son hung up from when he wasnt even a year…he’s almost 3. I think i really ought to update those…

Totally a slacker when it comes to hanging ANYTHING! We’ve been in our house for almost 5 1/2 years and just last week hung the first pics and some shelves in the the family room. That’s embarrassing. Life is just so busy and gets in the way sometimes 🙂 Anyhoo, I love, love the framed letters in the last of those photos above. Can you tell me how you did that? Did you buy them? Did you talk about them in an earlier post (I just found your blog about 3 weeks ago. Love it!)? I would appreciate anything you could tell me about them. Thanks! And Merry Christmas!

Hey Lisa! It was so easy (I don’t have a post on it, but maybe I should). I just used scrapbook paper in the picture frame. I purchased the letters at Hobby Lobby and then painted them. Then I just used self-adhesive to stick them to the frame! Merry Christmas!!

Love that canvas!! And actually updating pictures is one of the only things I am good at doing around the house!! lol

Ok love that warmer from Wal-mart – I burn candles all of the time and need to switch to one of those. I saw a Christmas one there and almost bought it – totally should have. Can’t wait to see the basement! Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Do the warmers from Walmart work just as well as the ones from Scentsy? I have two Scentsy brand warmers and love them. They just get a little pricey.
Brandi says
I love love love those warmers! I still use candles for ambiance sometimes but the scent from those warmers are amaaaazing. Mine leaves a heart shape on the wall too! I have one in the living room and one small one in the bedroom. 🙂 Sorry to hear about your neighbors house burning, what a scary thing to happen 🙁

I have the same warmer, and I LOVE it! The BHG warmers and bars are just as good as Scentsy, but half the price!! Here is a tip, the light bulbs and bars work in the Scentsy warmers too!
