Warning: I am about to overload you with vacation pictures in the next few days. I would apologize in advance, but…I can’t apologize for wanting to remember such great memories with my little {and big} guys.
I will also warn you that if you have never been to Hilton Head Island…these pictures may make you plan your next vacation to South Carolina. It’s gorgeous!
I thought I would kick it off with all of my Instagram pictures {which, by the way, I am @HouseofRose if you want to follow me there}!
Day one equaled family bike ride.
It was fun for about the first hour and then a certain 5 year old started boycotting the bike riding plan.
He was TIRED. His legs HURT. And he wasn’t going ANY further.
Only problem was? We were still a good 20 minutes from our condo.
Needless to say, the next 20 minutes was pure hell. Stopping every 2.5 minutes so he could have a meltdown and then trying to convince him that “we were almost there“. Good times.
Because we had rented the bikes for the entire day we didn’t want everyone else to suffer and miss out because he was throwing a fit…so we decided to trade in his bike for a carrier.
Goodnight!
Now THIS is my kind of bike ride. I much preferred the calm sleeping boys over the morning toddler tantrum.
Every day consisted of my husband sneaking off to the bedroom and snoozing. Funny how I never took one nap the entire trip yet he managed to nap every day. Men!
Jealous of their ability to close their eyes at any given moment regardless of responsibilities.
The boys LOVED the beach! Even “Mr. Particular” {aka SJ} was happy in the sand!
And I must admit…my hubby was probably needing to nap so bad because he played so much with them on the beach.
We took a dolphin tour mid-week! About 80% in to our boat ride we had still not spotted a dolphin and I was beginning to think that this “dolphin” trip was a scam. Thankfully, about 10 minutes before it was over we found 2 beautiful dolphins!
The boys got to drive the boat too!
Hubby and I had a couple date nights…AMAZING!
After long days at the beach it was nice to spend time alone with him.
No, he doesn’t have a brother {just in case you were wondering}.
We even filmed a video while on vacation.
I’m telling ya…the man never stops working! Ha!
I won’t complain since his hard work is what paid for our vacation.
Do you know what else I got to do while in Hilton Head Island???? I got to meet the gorgeous Becky, From Mrs to Mama!
To say that I LOVED her even more in person…would be an understatement!
Just ask my husband…who actually insisted he wanted to meet her too because I talked so highly of her. Haha!
We had a breakfast date at Panera and we chatted for over an hour and a half. And it felt like 5 minutes. The hubby sat quietly and listened to us chat. Don’t be fooled though, he chimed in a few times and wanted some tips from Becky on how to “break in” to the mommy blogging world! He cracks me up.
I truly wanted to pack her up with me and bring her back to Illinois. She is that sweet y’all! Ahhhh….I can not say enough nice things about her! If you’ve not visited her blog then you MUST go now! You will fall in love with her and her family as easily as I did. Plus, she just announced yesterday that baby #2…is a BOY!
I think we are all in agreement that we would go back to Hilton Head Island again! We usually go to Destin or somewhere in FL for vacation, but I much prefer Hilton Head.
Actual camera pictures to come…

When the boys get older you should go to Jekyll Island GA. It is where Nathan and got married in July. It is not touristy at all. You really feel like you are the only people there and it is full of history. It was where the old millionaires of our country went to get away.
