The first step in getting me “up to speed” on all this video nonsense….TRAINING! My husband purchased Video Traffic Academy back in September and his first task for me as his new employee was to complete this video series by James Wedmore! I must admit, I was a little “blah” about the whole idea before I started it. But I can’t even imagine NOT having this information now that it’s over!
The amount of valuable video information that I have learned from Video Traffic Academy is out of control! I would have considered myself a YouTube idiot a few months ago, but now…I am teaching my husband things that he had no idea about! How about that? Hehe!
A few of my takeaways:
1. Realizing that YouTube is a COMMUNITY: I mean, who knew that you couldn’t just upload a video and expect people to watch it? Hello…I’m NOT a celebrity! Why the heck would people want to watch my videos “just because”?
- Engage. Subscribe to other channels in your same category. “Like” videos. Comment. Grow your subscriber list by making friends!
2. Learning how to optimize your YouTube channel: Your channel is a reflection of YOU and YOUR brand!
- Fill out your profile (name, information, description, URL). Have a background image. Create playlists. Sync with your other social networking sites.
These are just a few of the easy things that have really made an impact on my husband’s Good Financial Cents YouTube Channel. Before we started implementing VTA he had 18,599 videos views and 36 subscribers.
And just a few months after we started learning behind the scenes tools taught by VTA…he’s already up to 20,134 views and 1,298 subscribers!
That’s kind of a big jump, hey?
If you are interested in learning how to become a YouTube guru then I would highly recommend Video Traffic Academy! You can purchase it here. I am excited to start applying all of the VTA principles to Dollars & Roses!
