Holy cow this weekend was amazing. I literally almost forgot how much I have missed summer…and being able to spend time by the pool.
I’m kinda wondering what the heck we did all winter to stay entertained?
Geez.
My kidsย LOVE to be outside. Maybe this is a boy thing? They don’t want to be outside for a few minutes or an hour…they would probably sleep out there if I would let them.
*I’m learning that my life is becoming one big “boy thing” these days*
T-ball. Bike riding. Water guns. Basketball. John Deere tractors. Choo-choo underwear.
I kinda like it.
That says a lot coming from a girly-sassy-lovemesomeshopping-decorating-pom pom kinda momma like me.
Don’t ya think?
Maybe God is changing my heart.
Who knew I would ever like Spiderman and Thomas the Train. But, I do.
I have to post this picture of Bents because honestly…he just makes me giggle.
Wearing his Gigi’s sunglasses and his superhero undies. Ready to swim, hey?!
I’ve been sticking to my Crossfit routine of 3 days a week and it still feels so GOOD. Luckily I have a few other girls who are doing it with me and I can not tell you how much that has really helped me.
Accountability. Encouragement. Motivation.ย
It truly helps to have a team of woman supporting you. I probably would have given up by now if it weren’t for them.
J snapped this shot of P-Man at Crossfit last week.
He likes to come and watch every once in awhile.
They just started doing Crossfit Kids and I was going to take him…but with a pretty demanding t-ball schedule (even at age 4)…I decided we would wait until winter time.
You know…when we have nothing to do and we are all pulling our hair out.
Bents was passing out hugs this weekend.
Be glad if you weren’t offered one. It was more like a choke hold than a hug. I had to jump in and regulate.
I’m pretty sure that since SJ has a personality like this…
…he didn’t even notice that he was getting the tightest hug around the neck that he’s ever got.
I’m really thankful to have met a new friend in my neighborhood. We’ve been spending tons of time together because P and her little boy, Alex, are only 3 days apart in age.
She even brought me a brownie (hand delivered to my door) the other night.
Talk about awesomeness?
It might possibly have been the best brownie I have ever had. I had to fight the boys for it. I ended up giving them about half. I thought about calling her up and asking if I could come steal more, but I thought they may be a little much. No?
But dang…it was THAT good.
I decided to add towel hooks on our back patio at the end of last summer. I’m pretty sure this is NOT what I had in mind when I pictured things hanging from them.
But hey, a boys gotta dry is undies somehow right?
Last week I was able to do some work poolside.
It was pretty much heavenly. And distracting. ๐
But I’m not gonna lie…I plan to do more of it in the weeks to come. Do you blame me?
How was your weekend? How will you be spending your summer days?

Okay, now you’ve got me wondering… When you adopt, will you have a preference on gender or will it be random? ๐ So happy for you by the way! God is good!

It sounds like you had an amazing weekend! Your boys crack me up, being a new mom of a little boy (already have a 2 year old girl) this makes me excited for years to come!
I love the last picture, I don’t think there is a better place to blog!

Glad you had a great weekend! I laughed out loud when you posted the hook picture on IG this weekend haha! So funny!
That brownie looks amazing! I think she needs a blog to share the recipe ๐
Yay for new friends!

Your boys are hilarious! I never realized just how fun boys could be but now that Mason is at a really fun age, I am loving every second of it. He would stay outside all day and all night if I let him.
Highly jealous of your pool. I think I would do work out there every single day!

I hear you on having to learn/enjoy how to do “boy stuff”. I have 3 boys and I have had to reserve my girly girl ways for my own time! ๐

Sometimes I worry that I will never have a girl and my life will be all things boy for all of time… because even though my son is only 8 months old – I feel a serious shortage of pink in my life! But then again, I get so excited for outdoor fun, choo choo trains, and all things little boy – life is good!

catching up, so this will be a bit scattered
1. Jealous of your weekend. It looked amazing with a gorgeous view of your pool. (Jealous of the pool– in a “i’d want to come swimming” kind of way)
2. CONGRATULATIONS to y’all on your adoption news! I think this is great and I’m so happy for all of you. Your new little addition is going to come into a great family!
3. I enjoy doing girly things by myself and not having to “share” that with anyone. ๐ I’ve had to adjust, too, having boys, but it’s kind of fun to get a day away alone for a mani/pedi or shopping.
4. Seriously, the view of the pool. It’s hot here. I need to start digging a hole in the backyard!

Mandy I must say that I have got to taste Ms. Felicia’s baking as well. She is an amazing cook!!! You guys are very lucky to have them as neighbours. What a great family they are ๐

Oh my word! Those undies on the hooks! OMG! Too funny!!!!!!
Your pool looks SO lovely, I’m so jealous that it’s hot enough to swim where you are! We likely won’t get to open our pool until sometime around Memorial Day weekend!
Girl, is that your own parking lot or gym behind your pool?! LOL I had to do a double take!! I was like Mandy has her own parking lot by her pool??!!!
Your new friend is stunning! By any chance, is she a model? And, pretty please have her share her amazing brownie recipe!! Looks so amazing! I want one now!
I mean to ask you a question about makeup on your other blog post, since you are THE make up diva! hehehee. I can never find a really good make up REMOVER! I hate the ones that make my eyes tear up, or make me rub my eyes raw to get off every last bit. Maybe thats why I hesitate in applying too much makeup every day, cause I dont want to struggle with getting it off! I’m hoping you can recommend a really good make up remover for me!!!
Thanks Mandy!!
You are like a big sister, with having all this helpful knowledge about stuff!

Mandy your camera does amazing things!! I don’t think I really look that good…..must be the lighting. LOL!! Ashley thank you for the compliment and I wish I was a model! ;0)
Ladies the brownies are easy peasy! I got the recipe from all recipes and I added chocolate chips because what could be wrong about that!! I have also added caramel, marshmellow fluff or kisses with caramel INSIDE them….Can you ever get enough dessert?! I think not!!
Ingredients
1/2 cup white sugar
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons water
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions
1.Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease an 8×8 inch square pan.
2.In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, butter and water. Cook over medium heat until boiling. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips until melted and smooth. — REMOVE FROM HEAT AND LET COOL for a minute or your eggs will cook when you add them and your brownies won’t thicken—Mix in the eggs and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; stir into the chocolate mixture. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
3.Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until brownies set up. Do not overbake! Cool in pan and cut into squares.
Felicia says
OH and just generously sprinkle the milk chocolate chips on the batter before placing in the oven. :0) ENJOY! Don’t me angry when the scale jumps though. LOL!
Ashley says
Oh my goodness, thank you so much for posting the recipe, Felicia! I am so going to make these tonight! And, I promise I won’t hate you when my scale jumps! hahaha.
