One of my favorite personal finance blogs (besides my husband’s), Get Rich Slowly, has an annual video contest. In years past I have really enjoyed watching all the entries! I’ve also gotten some really great personal finance tips too!
This year, since I have been doing more videos, I thought it would be fun to enter a video of my own! Plus, personal finance tips around here are pretty easy to come by. 🙂
I decided to share my video because it really is something ANYONE can implement in order to save a few bucks!
*I would love for you to watch…the number of views will play a role in who wins!*
One of the things I started doing this year to eliminate my excessive spending on cute paper? I started using the envelopes that my mail comes in, that I normally throw in the trash, for my to-do lists and scrap paper.
I have spent YEARS buying the most adorable notepads…Target, Erin Condren, Tiny Prints….you name it…I bought it. And personalized it too.
What I didn’t realize is that I was throwing away ENORMOUS amounts of perfectly fine paper everyday after I went through the mail.
Don’t get me wrong…I love personalized notepads, but I don’t love spending $30 on paper. I love spending $0 on paper. Scrap paper at least.
So I quit buying cute expensive notepads and started using my trash mail! It has definitely saved me some money! I think this year I am going to use the money I have been saving and purchase an Erin Condren Life Planner! Now THAT, I can justify spending money on!
My hubby has some great tips on saving on your life insurance. I promise you that the title of the video sounds extremely lame, but he wears a grill in this video. It’s pretty funny!
He also entered his “success story” as well talking about The Roth IRA Movement!
In case your not already…I’d love if you would follow me!
Come back tomorrow for some great vlogs!

So funny but my momma always used to do this. It was more a matter of her being disorganized and grabbing whatever was near by to write a note or list on. The envelope my social security card came in has a phone number on it from when we moved and she made a new friend while out and about. Ha!
