For all of those out there that think I only care about shopping, handbags, and P Man….
here’s to prove you wrong!
I know how to work the blower.
Yep!
True story.
And proud of it.
I usually try to leave all outside work for hubby, but sometimes…
just sometimes…
I get a crazy streak in me and decide I’m gonna help with yard work.
Trust me folks, I when I say sometimes…I mean you can count the number of times on your hands. Not the point.
Besides, I do mostly ALL of the inside work. That’s a fair trade right?
I happen to think so. I actually think I have the worse end of the deal.
Yard work is only necessary when the weather gets nice. Inside work is required all year round.
See.
I’m getting screwed in this deal.
How many women out there are willing to do outside work? I’d love to know how dirty you get your hands!

I’m right there with ya, a little dirty work is fine…occasionally. I’ve helped my hubby way too many times to count with yard work, but he’s finally one of those guys who is proud of his lawn and gets most of it taken care of by himself. I must admit I’m the pooper scooper at our house. Sometimes he helps me out if he needs to mow and I’m behind on the scooping. I must confess you look a lot cuter in your yard work clothes than I do in mine! I just bust out the grubby gear….
Kudos to you for taking the lead when you need to!

Ha! I am with you girl. I do all of the inside work, and rarely help outside, but there are some days when I get all excited to plant the new flowers in spring. Last year I decided that I wanted to do a vegatable garden… never happened. Maybe this year… That said I have no idea how to run the lawn mower, but I am damn good at using the weed eater to make the edges look pretty!

You will likely get several female responses here that will, to no surprise, agree with you. So let me shed some light on the male side of this topic that you might’ve gotten wrong:
1. “…Yard work is only necessary when the weather gets nice…” Hhhmm….we both live in the Midwest and you should know that mowing the yard in July/August is more of a workout than going to the gym. Raking leaves in November/December can be pretty cold sometimes. Shoveling snow from the driveway in January/February is brutal.
2. The pictures you took look slightly staged….like Shorty pointed out….your outfit is more of a “Sunday afternoon going to the movies” than “Geez, look at all these leaves I just bagged!”
3. I am sure J is showing P the ropes of yard work (In fact, I think I’ve seen pictures of him riding on the mower)….so once he is old enough, it will put you in #3 in the list of people who should do the outside work. Come to think of it, I think J is probably happier about this than you are since his workload will be the one decreasing!
4. You know I’m messing with ya!

Too funny. I don’t know how to use a blower. But in AZ with great weather most of the year, we have to have a gardner come at least 1x month to trim, clean up, etc. So that just means Hubs has more time to help me inside ๐

I love being outside! I think I would much rather garden and push a lawnmower than clean for 3 hours inside – Ha!! You see, guys only mow or do yard work 2, maybe 3 times a month but cleaning is something that has to be done on a weekly if not daily basis! And it takes longer to clean bathrooms, kitchen, vacuum, dust, etc than their work does!
You look adorable in your “outside” clothes ๐

I love working outside. I don’t mow, don’t blow, don’t weedeat…but I do all of the planting and weeding of flower beds. I love working in my flower beds!!

You’re too cute! I’m with you! I do all the inside work…which is way more intense…considering that I also have to NAG Mr. B into doing any type of yardwork!

Just a quick note from the photographer. It probably took longer to write this post than the amount of time that she actually held the blower. But I do appreciate the effort sweetie ๐
