It’s funny how, when it comes to decorating, most of the rooms in my home have been on my “priority” list BEFORE the front entryway area. Looking back, I wonder….why?
Why would I not focus on the absolute first thing people see of our house when they walk in the door.
Seems like that should have been a no-brainer to me.
Hindsight is 20-20.

Anyway, I finally came to my senses and decided it was time to add some style to the entryway. If you have been coming over for the last 2.5 years? I apologize for the disappointment you may have felt while entering my home.
I post all these lovely pictures of my home on the blog and then you come over {to drop something off let’s say}…and all you see is the entryway area. You probably left feeling cheated.
I get it.
Well, I didn’t get it. But, I do now.
It all began when my neighbor text me a picture of this new piece of wall art that she found at Ross. I love the meaning behind the words on this canvas.

I immediately thought it would be a perfect fit for our bedroom. But after rushing out to Ross {after getting my neighbors permission to copy her} I realized that there was no where in our master bedroom that it looked right.
That’s when “project makeover the entryway” began.

But, because it looked very alone to hang it by itself, I had to find MORE things to hang. This project went from hanging one new canvas to re-doing an entire gallery wall.

I love that this is the first impression people will get now when they enter our home.
A hodge-podge of things that mean something to our family. A lamp from my Grandma B’s, an anniversary date framed, family photos, and the meaning behind love…the foundation we raise our children on. A great way to add character to your home.

I tried to keep the opposite wall a little simpler. I figured the one wall had a lot going on so I needed to even it out by being calm on the other side.

One of the most unique ideas to adding character {to any room of your house really } is to paint your ceiling a bold color. I absolutely LOVE the dark chocolate ceiling that we have in the entryway. Our ceiling finish is flat so that makes it stand out even more.

So, now when you come over I hope you will feel like the style is set from the moment you walk in the door.

What an amazing space! I’m seriously impressed with the state of your house with three little boys. I have a hard enough time keeping things presentable with one!
Gorgeous! I love it! Great job, as always!
Your entryway looks fabulous girl!! Makes me wish I had an entryway to decorate here at my house!!
Where did you get the fabulous rug? Great entryway!!
Your entryway looks great!! I love the gallery wall that you created; it seems like it really lets people know what time of loving home they’re entering.
This is so amazing! You have a beautiful house. I am currently gathering ideas to update my photo collage space in the living room, and just might be stealing, i mean BORROWING a couple of your ideas. Thanks for sharing!
Your photo collages all look so great! I recently printed out the one in your dining room as an example for my aunt. I love your style!
LOVE the dark chocolate color on the ceiling… and, love all the canvases/photos fit together. Beautiful! I love that bible passage, too!
wow Mandy, just wow. Absolutely stunning!
I really wish I had the decorating sense you do! I have some bear walls that need attention!
Fabulous! Love every single aspect of it!
Wowza! I’m so impressed with your decorating abilities! Love your style (which, I suppose, is because it’s also my style). I’ve always found pieces like these that I love, but haven’t been able to put it all together. Thank you for helping me do it for our home. I hope you don’t mind having a “clone home” in AZ! Thanks, again, for sharing your beautiful style and all the details for putting it together. Love it!
😀
I love this! I wish our house was bigger so we’d have space to do things like cool gallery walls.
Where did you find that amazing rug?
Love this! We should be moving into our house in a few weeks, and you have the best ideas! Really like the ceiling color!
Love it! I love the idea of painting the ceiling.
Love it! You have such a knack for putting things together. I may be “borrowing” some ideas. Thanks for being such an inspiration. Love your blog!
Oh. My. Word. The ceiling! It made my mouth crash to the ground. It is stunning.
It’s all amazing! Great job!
Love it!!!! What are the measurements of the “love is patient” decor?
Love it!! I so wish that I had your decorating skills!!
I Love it! What is the size of the “love is patient” wall decor?
I’m honestly not sure of the exact dimensions. I would go measure, but that would require me to go get my big ladder from the garage and drag it back inside and right now my ladder is on loan to someone! LOL! I’m sorry!
Beautiful entryway! I especially love the canvas photos 🙂
Are the family photos printed on canvas ordered from a photo center or DIY? if DYI, do you have a website you used for instructions or tips? thanks so much!
Ordered from EasyCanvasPrints.com
OMG, that rug…where did you get it?! I am in love.
I think it was RugsUSA.com!
Looks amazing!! I love the rug, where did it come from?
I’m so upset 🙁 I went to my local Ross and Hobby Lobby today and couldn’t find any of the canvases you used. They were sold out! I even called 8 Ross stores in Florida & Georgia.
Oh no! That stinks! There were a ton of different canvas prints that I liked at Hobby Lobby. Maybe you can find something similar. TJ Maxx had a great selection too. In fact, I found about 3 more I wanted to buy, but told myself no since my wall was already full! LOL!
I found the “Life is good” on-line at Kohl’s http://www.kohls.com/product/prd-964244/-life-is-good-wall-plaque.jsp
I found a girl on Etsy who can make the “Love is patient” wall art and it looks amazing! http://www.abetterday.etsy.com
I love, love your decor. Will definitely copy when I finally buy my house.
What sizes are your canvas family portraits? Love them!
Recently stumble onto your blog, love your decorating style! Your entryway inspired me to do something similar with mine. I like you had friends greeted by a mostly bare space. With only $24 and some repurposed thrift store frames and other items I already had, I was able to make a nice collage of pictures. Some of the frames need so pictures or something in them. The nice thing about it is you can always add to it.
So thank you!
Yay!! Glad it inspired you! Thanks Paula!
What size are the 2 canvas family pictures?
Hi Mandy,
I am going nuts trying to find a frame for the live mirror. What size did you use?
What an amazing job! I love this!
What size are the 2 canvas photos?
I’m so glad I stumbled across your blog!! I used a picture of your foyer (found randomly on the web) to redo our foyer entry – it’s more minimal than yours, but it LOOKS FABULOUS!! Thanks for sharing your creativity!!
Awesome Denise! Glad it helped with your foyer project!
I LOVE this! Where did you get the Family is Everything print? I must find it!
Thank you!
I actually made that and it’s so easy! Just use any frame, some scrapbook paper and then type the words out in Word on your computer, print them, and cut them out!
Where do you find all of the mirrored words? I have noticed them in a few of your collages 🙂 So cute!
I love the paint color in the bedroom. Can you tell me the name of it? Thank you!
Love this! What size open frame is surrounding the ‘live” mirrored sign? Thanks!
I am always so scared to put hammer to nail and just go for it. You have inspired me to try to spruce up these walls:)
Thanks! Your house is beautiful by the way!

I am in love with your wall. I’m linking it to a post on hall decor. Thanks for the gorgeous inspiration!
Love your gallery wall!! I’m also seriously crushing on your circle rug – where did you find it??
Thanks!! I got it at RugsUSA.com.
Did your doors come with your home or did you put them in?? I’ve looked everywhere for doors like that and would love to know if you had any information! Love your style!!!
Your front doors are my dream doors! Did they come with your house or do you know anything about them, brand, where to buy??!! Thank you so much your foyer looks awesome!
We bought them online and then we had to stain them. It was a ton of work! You can order them online already stained, but they are RIDICULOUS in price. I wish I could remember where we ordered, but I’m drawing a blank. Sorry!
If anyone finds the link to where I could find that rug it would be greatly appreciated. I love it!!!!
I am thinking about ordering the Bless this House with Love and Laughter sign. It’s hard to tell online if the background of the sign is red with some wood exposed in the background or if it’s really more orange. I was hoping for red. I’m not able to see it in person before I order it. Would you mind letting me know? Love your wall!
Thanks!
Hi Abby! Mine is definitely more red!
Lovely. Where did you get the rug?
RugsUSA.com
I was wondering were did you purchase the rug at the front door. This rug would tie everything together in my front room.

Your entry wall is amazing… I am now obsessed with finding the “love is” print. We don’t have a Ross but I am hoping I can track it down at Homegoods or through google somehow. I really love it.
I love this entry way. Where did the light fixture come from?
