I can’t think of back-to-school time without thinking of this quote from the movie Billy Madison:
“Back to school! Back to school, to prove to Dad that I’m not a fool! I got my lunch packed up, my boots tied tight, I hope I don’t get in a fight! Ohhhh, back to school! Back to school! Back to school!”
Mainly because…the whole “I hope I don’t get in a fight!” line is totally something my middle child would say. He’s only in pre-k, but last year he came home 3 days in a row with a red card (meaning he got in trouble).
Day 1 – He punched someone. Day 2 – He spit on someone. Day 3 – He put someone in a head lock.Yea, so I see that his future is gonna be full of detentions. #Lordhelpme
He used to come home from school each day and say to me…
“Mommy!! Guess what? I didn’t hurt any friends today!!”
See, I told ya. Gonna be trouble, that kid.
Phew. I should start praying now for the high school years. I’m envisioning he’ll be trying to sneak out of the house before he’s a freshman.
One thing I usually DO NOT get a say in when it comes to my boys?
**Who can guess?**

DING! DING! DING! YOU WIN!
I can try my darndest to pick out their clothes and dress them…but these three little hard headed men have a relentless independent side to them. Regardless of my opinions and choices…they choose what they like.
And if I beg them to wear something else? They will continually get naked until I give up and let them pick out their own outfits. #truth
Which could be the reason that 50% of the time they are running around naked.
Lately they’ve been into sports wear. I’m assuming this is a normal boy thang’. Yes?
But when I told them they could pick out some cute new back-to-school clothes on Mini Boden… they ran to the computer like I was gonna pass out chocolate or something.
I never knew that giving them a voice in outfit selection would make the getting dressed daily routine so much easier. But, I’m here to tell y’all…it works.
I finally realized that it’s not that my kids will ONLY wear sports wear. Nope. In fact, they didn’t want to take off the blue camo pants and leather high tops. You know why? Because I let them pick it out.
The entire process was fun…from choosing what they liked online, to having it arrive at the doorstep, to being able to model it for mommy. Ahhhhh! They loved it!
Genuinely.
We were having so much fun in our new clothes that I instructed my seven year old to pick up his three year old brother upside down. I mean, how could this not make for a perfect shot, right?
Moms know everything. Duh.
All seemed fun and good until 4.5 seconds later when that same seven year old? Got kicked in the head by 2 free flailing feet and dropped my three year old straight on his head.
When I say the next 16 shots were of full on crying. I do not lie.
Nothing that a little popsicle can’t fix.
I learned my lesson. I will no longer suggest dangerous acts merely for the purpose of catching that awesome moment on camera. Ha!
At least I got the smiling ones though, hey?!
It’s safe to say these Rose boys will be heading back-to-school in style. Now if only good style equaled good behavior. #darnit

I love Boden!I have yet to buy any for my twin boys but if I won the gift card I would get the Space t-shirt, some of the leather high tops, some of the track pants or the grey slim fit jeans. They have so much cute stuff.

My boys would absolutely love the track pants! If they can’t be naked, they usually only wear “sports” type clothing.
I looked first at their baby clothes since I don’t have any school-aged kids. I love that they have twin romper sets. They are perfect for my twin boys!

Can you believe I’ve never heard of Boden before! I must live under a rock! I’m in LOVE with their cute outfits. My daughters would love the big applique t-shirt…the one with the owl with the glasses! So cute! The pet cardigan is adorable too.
So cute, my fav is the camo pants (my Cowboys would love those) and the star sweatshirt! My rule around her is let them pick the clothes we buy, I find it eliminates much of the tantrum factor when I pick out the outfits (the few times I do pick them out lol).

I’m just happy to see your boys are wearing real clothes in this post! We love Mini Boden. Love it like we love Saturday-morning-donuts. For years, our older son would only wear Mini Boden and Under Armour. Boom! Period! And Mini Boden can go through the washing machine and dryer 433 times… and it still looks good enough to hand down to someone else who’s a bit smaller. I love these snapshots of your boys, and don’t worry… We’ll be doing detention right along with you, when our two-year-old starts school. Every time we go ANYWHERE, as we’re getting out of the carseat in the Suburban, the conversation goes like this: “No hitting while we’re here. No pinching while we’re here. We are NICE to people.” See? I’ve always told you that we should become BFFs and sip coffee together in the mornings!
