I am sure this comes as no surprise to you… But I have had this post ready to go for months and haven’t actually posted it. So many months in fact, I have a completely different bed. Ha!
Decorating A.D.D. is a true sickness. I am still waiting to be officially diagnosed, but I am pretty certain WebMD would say I test positive for it.
If it existed. And it totally does in my mind.
This time one thing is certain… I didn’t paint walls or ceilings. Which is the wonderful thing about having white or grey walls, it goes with EVERYTHING.
Remember when I had chocolate brown walls here? Yea, that wasn’t as easy to change up. Ha!
I painted it bright and cheery last time I rearranged (which was probably a few years ago). You can see that reveal here.
I call this bright and cheery 2.0. And who knows what I will call the even more recent updated look.
I’m going to wait and source everything at the bottom of the post so don’t go getting in a frenzy thinking you need to read through all the words to find out where I got something.
And if it’s not sourced, take that as a “I can’t remember where the heck it came from” sign because most likely, it’s been part of this house for longer than my memory allows me to recall.
One of the biggest changes is the dresser that I refinished in Alabaster white! Painting furniture is one of my favorite hobbies.
Yes, it used to be painting walls, but I am over that. Now all I want to do is paint dressers and bookshelves and baby beds.
I took this puppy from black to white and it makes such a huge difference.
My tip for painting any wood furniture? Sand first. Paint second.
I use an electric sander so it didn’t take long. I don’t get too crazy with it… I just take off that top shiny layer so that it’s dull enough for paint to stick to.
I wiped her down with some trusty baby wipes and I slapped on my Alabaster Sherwin Williams paint (I buy the Duration kind). Voila – a new dresser!
I am also in love with pops of green plants.
Let me clarify. Fake green plants. Because, hello, I kill real plants.
Ain’t no one got time for more house duties like watering 9 bazillion plants around the house. One day, one day.
And gold lamps are my jam. Like how I mixed gold and grey. I break all the rules.
There you have it… our updated fixer upper style master bedroom that has already been changed since these photos. How long till I change it again?
I can’t help myself. Gah.

Gah! I still have a chocolate brown accent wall that now goes with nothing. Where was Joanna Gaines when we were all painting things chocolate brown?! She could have saved everyone a bunch of Paint Regret. Your bedroom turned out amazing, but then… I’ve come to expect nothing less than amazing at this blog!
